I'm still reading about this system and hoped to shortcut the learning curve by asking here....

i was interested in the 300 AAC scope they have, but found a great deal on their shotgun slug model. Both seem to have the same reticle. Anyone know? Assuming it is, or isn't, is there any reason why the "spot on" software wouldn't accommodate either on a 300?

yes, I know there's better out there for a mortgage or two.

TIA.

Have you tried going on that website and entering the different variables to find out?

*edit*

Just did it, you should have no problems, but what I've seen on "slug" type of scopes are the crosshairs are much larger and thick.

G., Spot On will definitely workfor whatever cal/scope you choose. I have been running a P-223 3X Carbine Scope on one of my .300 Blackout's. Works' great for my inside of 200 yards needs with sub-sonic ammo. I also have a P-300 BLK on one AR and love the aded magnification. One more thought for you, Nikon is coming out with another .300 blackout scope with a 30 mm tube and illuminated reticle. My guess is it'll be roughly twice the P-300 BLK cost plus at least a 4-6 month wait. The Shotgun Hunter reticle and the P-300 BLK super-sub are different. The 1.65-5 would work for your Blackout especially with Spot On. Make sure you get the proper scope height enter which for AR's is roughly 2.5 in. mid bore to mid scope.

I hope this info helps?

Spent some time on there and it looks like the scope will work. Only negative I've seen, as the crosshairs don't seem thicker, is the shorter parallax focus. Still not a big deal. I've enough boys in my clan that someone is always looking for a hand me down.

Thanks guys.
