I have been looking at dropping my Remington 700 SPS .308 into a chassis. I like the idea of being able to do it myself and getting DBM ability. I have been eyeballing the new KRG X-Ray chassis. It looks like it would do everything I need and the price is decent for a chassis, but do I want to wait for it to be released. I play at some precision rifle stuff but I mostly hunt with this rifle. I just want to make sure I explore all my options fully so I’m asking for suggestions. Thanks for the help.

There's getting to be a lot of options out there for a chassis, only you can make the call on what's going to work for you.

AICS is nice but on the heavy side if you're going to be hiking around with it, but not sure what the weight will be on the new version just released.

The X-ray looks like a really nice option at a reasonable cost if you don't need all the bells and whistles.

On the higher cost side but REALLY nice especially for a rifle that will do some hunting duty is the Manners with the mini-chassis. Pick your stock, mount the barreled action in the mini chassis and drop it in the stock. No bedding required. With their new Carbon layup you can get them down to about 3.3 lbs with the mini-chassis IIRC.

XLR is out there as well.

These feel pretty good too.

if you can wait for the release of that X-Ray... why not save up a few hundred more dolla's and get a really fancy one [Coffee]

Trying to keep weight down (I carry this thing for hunting) and cost low (trying to stretch the gun budget to the max). Big dreams with a limited budget.
