Think this goes here. My buffer tube is milspec, I haven't calipered it myself but website specs claim it at 1.14". And I bought a milspec stock.

It seems as though the stop pin doesn't protrude high enough to catch the holes in the buffer tube. Side by side the magpul stock pin is considerably lower than my stock stock. When I depress the latch on the magpul the stop pin does not go flush with the stock but goes below.

What did I do wrong?

Pics below. Magpul on right. Sorry for crap pics. TYIA!

Don't know if this helps but when I fully depress the pins that knob recesses below the grade of the stock. My standard stock the knob peeks out.

I think the stop pin was set up too low, most likely a manufacture error. Unfortunately I think your stock is a lemon, you should try contact Magpul.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Im a noob and truly had a Wtf moment, "am I really this dumb?"

I'll give them a call tomorrow. Thanks for the input urbanwolf!

Assuming your buffer tube isn't to blame, I think the stop pin was installed upside down.

I would consider pressing out the roll pin and flipping it over. I'm certain there's a spring involved so be careful.

Yeah there is a spring. But the underside of the pin doesn't have a cap. Probably no pinhole either. Just my luck!

Guess I just wanted to check with the smart guys before I make a dumb move.

I am almost 100% sure that yours is a PTS not MAGPUL. It's for airsoft and the pin does look upside down. Bring it to Bowers, have Rob look at it.

I'll double check when I get home. I don't recall seeing PTS anywhere. I bought it locally from a trusted shop. Magpul box and all.

Upside down...fml..Anyone got pics of what its supposed to look like?

I agree with this course of action. Let Magpul sort it out. They will take care of you.

That just sucks. I hope you solve it soon. Good luck.

And if you really NEED a stock while this is getting fixed, send me a PM. I think I have an extra CTR I can loan ya.

Thanks HB! But I just threw on the old stock. I'm in no big hurry, just bummed.

I just looked at a CTR, which is setup a little different, but the pin certainly does protrude much more and looks like your takeoff. The pin is slotted where the roll pin goes through and open ended so it's not upside down.

Is there anything obstructing the handle - flash? It doesn't look like it's all the way released. Can you tell if the roll pin is contacting the bottom of the slot in the stop pin?

Wasn't there a bunch of chicom knockoffs floating around lately? Trusted shop could have gotten taken too I guess.

You're right on the money. The lower knockout pin does not contact the stopper pin in the rested position. It looks like the plastic arm (lever to actuate changing positions) was made too thick possibly. I also see no obstructions and my rifle is stock except handguard and grip(both magpul). I have faith in magpuls CS. I'll contact them tommorow.

Bptactical - that'd be a no no for my. Btw my son likes your business cards! :)

Make new pin

Or see if the one in the crappy factory stock will swap over.

Now why didn't I think of that. I think I'll keep that on the back burner and see what happens after I call CS.

Hardest part is I have zero tools for this sort of work. I do have some small screwdrivers to use as hole punches. Might be out of my league. But a damn fine idea! Thank you.

I called tech support. They said to send it in and they will repair or send a new one. It arrived in Erie this afternoon, and they said it should be a one day turnaround. Hoping to get it back by Saturday....this stock is starting to get pricey! :)

I'm hoping they just send a new one!

Will do. I'm hoping USPS "finishes" the delivery tomorrow. Otherwise it'll be Monday.

All my google-fu, I've never found this problem. Guess I'm lucky! Hoping to score a low round mag(just to even out shipping).

So how did Magpul resolve the issue?

So how did Magpul resolve the issue?

Called tech support, the guy (singular) was out until the 12th, I emailed magpul, a rep emailed be back saying it went to a different dept for warranties and should be shipped today or tomorrow but I should get an email upon shipping. So hoping for email confirmation. All is well so far. :)

Personally for a company with so many moving parts I'm pleased. Also in light of them moving.
