Well with all the crap happening with the neighbors the wife and I have decided to move. We are looking for big acreage property but cant find anything in our budget that meets our needs. However, we found a smaller lot (10 acres) that we may buy - and put a house on.. But I've never done the build your own house thing before. I've always bought from big builders or bought something already done.

Anyone have any experience here and can offer up some contacts for people who can do soup-to-nuts a full home build. Nothing looking for anything McMansion type - just 2.5-3k sq. ft. Someone who is gun friendly would be a big plus.

I built a sweet clubhouse as a kid that took a backhoe to knockdown 14 years later. Let me know if I could be of service!

sorry, no help here!

I have toyed with this idea for a while and I thump bang for the buck you might want to look into manufactured homes. Not a double wide. Just a home that is built in sections in a factory and shipped to you. They have come a LONG way. Here is one company I liked.

The biggest concern when "building" is price range, referrals / customer feed back.

I built some shelves this weekend. I'm pretty sure we're qualified to handle this.

I was in construction for 17 yrs. I've a friend in pueblo who had a local shooter build her house. I'm impressed with the quality every time if visit. I can get info if you wish.

I'm framing a custom home right now....well I would be if it weren't for this snow. I do framing and masonry for a living. I'll frame it for "around" 25,000 rounds of 5.56 depending on size and difficulty. Labor only. LOL

My wife and I are currently at the beginning of a build on 40 acres near Elizabeth. We are using a local builder Sweetbriar Homes. We looked at a few houses that they recently built. So far, they're treating us very well. They just poured footers a week ago on our build.
