I'm having a hard time trading/selling my ACOG so I'm thinking of going another route....

Whats a decent optic on the cheap for PDogs, I have a 4x16-40 BSA on my 10/22 and thought about just using that instead of getting another.

Lets hear your thoughts.....

What do you consider cheap?

Well.....

I could possibly trade for an IOR Valdada 2.5x-10x-42 but I'm hesitant to lose the quick acquisition of the ACOG. Then I thought I can pick up an Aimpoint.........or just buy a cheap scope for the PDogs. (not like I'm doing that all the time)

So to answer your question, probably around 300-400 or less. What did you have in mind?

I have a Mueller Eradicator on my .17hmr and it has worked great. http://www.muelleroptics.com for a 10/22 I would recommend the Mueller APV. It has received great reviews over at http://www.rimfirecentral.com I bought mine from here http://www.mizzoumuleguns.com/id12.html he will include a free sunshade and free shipping for $115 for the black and $125 for the silver.

The biggest downfall is the fixed 10x.

I've got a SS 10x42 on my M1A, and I love it BTW.

maybe a lower end variable power nikon?

I really like Mueller scopes. I have their 8.5-25 Mildot tactical on two of my 17 hmrs and the Eradicator on my 204 Ruger. Just picked up one of the Tactical Mildot off ebay for just under $150 with a sunshade. Two of my 10/22s sport APVs.

Take a look at the Bushnell Elite 3200 line. You can get the tactical in 10x for a decent price and adjustments are very repeatable. I've been shooting one on my Savage .223. No matter how much I'm cranking on the dials I always get right back to zero. The glass is actually pretty good as well.

Come down to one of the Steel Prairie Dog matches (3rd Saturdays) in Pueblo and you will get an idea of what works and what doesent. And its great practice for the real dogs.
