I have a 12 pound Brisket that I'm picking up at the butcher on Friday and plan to put it in the smoker around midnight Saturday so it's ready for game time Sunday.

I'm also hoping to get some pork belly as an appetizer.

What are you guys planning?

for some reason I had the thought i'd have chili dogs, and then thought (while watching lord of the rings) if the broncos got to the superbowl i'd eat a chili dog at each hobbit meal (breakfast, second breakfast, elevensies, luncheon, afternoon tea, supper, dinner) with the thought I might have velveeta/rotel dip on the last one.

I'm so ticked with the No Firearms Losers that I'm probably not even going to bother watching. Even GoDaddy's commercial looks to be lame but I can catch the commercial highlights on the web without feeding the monster. Have fun if you are watching.

Did babybacks last weekend, so planning to do a brisket this weekend. Will probably do it Saturday to enjoy on Sunday.

May also make some queso for snacking.

queso dip that I saved a pint of my last batch of chili for, with some fritos scoops
cheese and cracker tray
shrimp cocktail ring
10 lbs of wings I'll do in my smoker for a few hours then hit the grill to crisp the skin, with a honey bbq sauce
bag of curly fries deep fried in the dutch oven

OK tell me about this one. I've smoked a lot of meat, but this one is new to me. Have you done it before? Sounds like a great idea.

At least you don't have to watch it on AFN and sit through the retarded "wear your pt belt/eye pro EVERY WAKING MINUTE" commercials.

I know, first world problems. Or third world, considering your perspective I guess.

The ad sucked. I'd have passed on it simply because it wasn't relevant to what they sell. I'd do it to godaddy, too.

OK tell me about this one. I've smoked a lot of meat, but this one is new to me. Have you done it before? Sounds like a great idea.

I load up the racks in my smoker with wings that have a homemade dry rub on them, go 275 for 4 hours with a mix of apple wood 70% and hickory chips 30%. Get your grill to med high heat and put them skin side down until the skin crisps up. If you take the temp the meat should be about 170, if not set it back down skin side up on indirect heat (top rack or off the coals on a kettle grill) and cover until done. Most of the fat should render out in the smoker, but some will still drip on the grill so watch for flare ups if you are on charcoal. Toss in sauce of choice and chow down.

We are having friends coming over, so I'm firing up the smoker around midnight Saturday. I've got a cryovac package of two boneless pork butts (just over 15lbs) that I'll smoke and turn into pulled pork. My wife is handling most of the rest, though I'll likely end up cooking bacon wrapped jalapenos.

Sounds like folks have some good spread going on. I think since I'll be smoking most of the day I will stick with a lighter beer than the usually ABV heavy IPAs that I drink.

Got a chicken in the Big Green Egg now - should finish up about 4. Also have a 12er of the new Sam Adams Rebel IPA to go with it. Stuff is great - almost as good as Boston Lager.

Not sure I'm watching the game but I'm cooking a steak (can't decide whether to go with the T-bone or the ribeye) and some asparagus on the grill. Not sure about the starch, I'm thinking about doing sweet potato fries instead of my usual mixed white/brown rice.
