View Full Version : I got assaulted at work....again.

You guys might remember a couple months ago some guy spit in my eye at work because I refused to serve him.

This afternoon, some douchebag came through, and started harassing my 17 y/o coworker, asking for her number repeatedly, asking how old she was, and saying 17 is still cool with him. Keep in mind this guy is around 30...

Finally he pulls out of the drive through, but comes back in to the store and keeps harassing her. After repeated "No s," I asked him to leave. He refused. I told him he could meet her two friends in back, Smith & Wesson. He looked at my name tag, and pointed at me and said "You just made the biggest mistake of your life."

I was expecting him to call the cops on me and say I was threatening him (nevermind his repeated propositions of a minor). Instead, he comes back an hour later in a ski mask, and stands at the register rubbing his face through the mask like he is suffering from allergies. However, he is staring directly at me, unflinching.

I ask in a hard tone "Can I help you, sir?"

It was then the SHTF. He whipped back the mask, leaned back and hocked a loogie right at me. Thankfully my ninja dodging lessons I took after the previous aforementioned incident, I dodged to the right and it stuck to the wall behind me. Guy flipped out. He ripped a credit card machine off the counter (similar to the one in the middle of the pic)

http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/1133/ftpostcardwebfinal.jpg

And rips it off the counter, yanking the power and phone wires from it, and tossing several items from under the counter as the line went taut, and proceeds to hurl it at me with all his strength. I go fuckin Matrix on the guy and dive to the floor, as the machine misses me by a couple inches and slams into the wall behind me.

At this point, Mr. Panty Waste points at me and takes off running. Cops have no idea who he is. District Manager (who hates me right now for closing the store during a blizzard a couple weeks ago) is worried to death about us, while the store manager (cool as a cucumber) says not to worry, that he will order a new card scanner in the morning.

So tomorrow I'm going to go apply for my CWP, and go find some decent pants and a belt to facilitate the carry.

Wow! That is insane! Do you have camera's where you work? Where do you work, if you don't mind me asking?

Burger King at Chambers & Hampden

I've probably been to that Burger King once or twice, but it's been awhile since I lived in Aurora. Good luck with the CCW. Just hope nothing bad happens for another 3 months. ;)

I'd carry anyway, but that's just me.

Be safe meanwhile... Make sure the psycho don't stalk you etc.

Next time instead of avoiding the CC machine...

you took your class a while ago, whats the delay for your CCW.

Try some of that MK4 pepper spray. it shoots a stream of liquid approx 25'. While not a gun it's a work around where business prohibits CCW

If I worked in retail or late night fast food places like that, I'd carry my gun. I could give a damn what my employer thinks about it. I might lose my job, but then again, I'd still be alive.

Can't put a price on that. My GF used to work 3rd shift at Loaf and Jug, and she kept my Kel-Tec PF9 in her purse right under the counter.

She would have been fired if it were ever discovered, but hey, if she ever got robbed, it would have saved her life.

That is insane! What a nutjob! Was he drunk or something?
Hopefully this hothead is smart enough to stay away.

Mostly I just havent done it because I havent had the cash. It takes 90 days, and I am planning on moving out of state in about 4 months, which has been another thing that kept me from applying.

I was hoping for a pic of you blading at a 45 or something!

good work dodging. If I was CCW I don't think i would have shot the guy but he would be held at gunpoint for the cops at a minimum.

Man I drew down on a guy at the BK drive thru on Perioria he was angling up on me, saw Mr 1911 and said it's all good brother. Micky D's never seems to have this trouble

I did blade at 45 at some point between his shots, no disengaging though, but about an hour later I did have a massive adrenaline dump...

I think if I was working retail, and someone came inside with a ski mask on, I'd have my gun out by the time they approached the counter.

Good job dodging the assault.
This probably won't be the most popular comment on this thread, but never the less...
Is my command of the facts correct in understanding that you said that he could "meet her 2 friends Smith & Wesson out back"? While rather witty and somewhat funny after the fact, I don't think it is a good idea to make such statements whether you are armed or not let alone with no CCW.
A statement like that could as easily provoke the situation as well as appear to seem threatening or perhaps even premeditated.

In my experience, it is better to be prepared and stand my ground with confidence, knowing that I probably will not need to use force, rather than to excite my opponent into getting prepared himself. Situations like this are difficult to "plan" for, none the less if he had a gun, he would now be ready to take it to the next level...

So am I to understand that you invoked the names of Smith & Wesson when they weren't actually available?

Don't do that again ... you basically threatened to shoot the guy without being able to back up the threat. That's a good way to find yourself on the wrong end of Mr. Glock (wait, you're in Aurora, so that would be Mr Hipoint, Mr Jennings or Mr Jimenez ... either way bad juju).

Oh and once you do get your permit and S&W are available, still don't threaten people ... if he HAD called the police you'd probably be in trouble (lose your permit trouble at least).

Why does all the crazy shit happen in Aurora? I moved here a few years ago, and they should call the 5pm News "Things that went bad in Aurora".

Now that you've "escalated" the issue, this may not be a good idea, but if you continually have horn dogs hitting on the underaged help you can do what grandma used to use on the amorous dogs:

I dug out a can of mace I picked up from the Ready Room before it closed down and will carry that with me for the remainder of my tenure at BK...

Exactly! Either that or cell phone dialing 911. . . [Beer]

I actually did flip open my cell phone and dial in 911, just had to hit call...of course, the whole event lasted all of 30 seconds, but I hit dial as soon as he was out the door...

I'd drop a hint to the 17yo hottie to look for a new job. If the guy is wacky enough to pull a stunt like that...be that persistent at the drive though and then even come in the store.
Could be capable of more than hocking a spit wad

You and me both! Like I said, I'll give my notice and at the very least keep a can of mace on me for the duration...

Just gave my boss a week's notice in writing, with my reasons why. Guy didnt even care. Acted like my best friend for a year and a half, and all he had to say when I dropped the letter was "So when ya going?"

Don't be a hero, Call the cops! Your lucky that the dumb-ass didn't come back in with a weapon. That can of mace can get you killed to if you don't know what to do after you use it. Ask any LEO what's the best thing to do and I bet they say call us at first sign of trouble. My first job ever was at an A&W Drive-In. We called the Cops all the time. Something about a good looking Car-Hop seems to attract alot of drunks, perverts, and pranksters. Most of them were pretty harmless but it was fun to watch the Jeffco Sheriff Department swarm down on them, Yank them out of the car, cuff um, search um, rough um up a little bit, Tow there vehicle, and hual them off.
