Has anyone used ALUMA-HYDE from Brownells? If so he do they actually hold up against string solvents like Hoppes 9?

It works ok but is very slow curing and fairly thick.

No, my product of choice is Norrels MolyResin. It does not go on as thick as DC or CK and with it not being a catylized coating it is not subject to the ratio, curing aggravations that DC and CK are

I recently picked up a Cerakoted upper and lower. Had to do a little work to get the pins, safety lever, etc. to fit because of the thickness of the coating. Looks like it should hold up quite well though.

Does MolyResin require baking? I know Duracoat don't, and I'm planing to do painting on a half polymer gun, it can't be baked. Also how tough is MolyResin?

Yes, the MolyResin is a thermally cured product. They do have an air dry product but I have no experience with it.
Properly applied MR is very tough. I have noticed though it seems to adhere much better to a blasted surface vs a freshly parkerized surface.

So far I haven't had any problems with oils or solvents wreaking the finish on my rifle. I think I have 1k worth of shooting on my ar and the only noticeable wear spot is on the brass deflector.

I know this isn't the original question - but for a point of interest - DuraCoat can/will be damaged by lacquer thinner type products.
