Because I went to get my CCW today from Adams County I know it will pass. Kind of like washing your truck and then it rains....
BTW, lady told me they are getting them done in 60 days....

Applied finally, took the class well over a year ago. While sitting there waiting to get finger printed I'm reading about the bill being heard today and thought to myself, of course it's today. Chuckled and decided if it passes, I'll take credit for it, in a none direct way!

Probably, ha ha. I was just there for a renewal and they told me 40 days. Not too bad I guess, took the full 90 the first time.
I went in and applied on Jan 7, got a call from the nice lady today saying it was in the mail. Twenty-Four day turn on the CCW, I am impressed.

This would happen right after you get yours! Haha. I've already taken the class, just waiting on the wife's "OK" to spend the money now!

Constitutional Carry? As in nationwide CCW permits? I thought that was generally considered a bad idea?

I don't like the idea of a nation wide permit, I would prefer to keep our current system at the state level with a nation wide reciprocity. Or I'm good with a flat out, no permit no strings, nation wide CCW, but that is just a pipe dream.
Yeah, to me, national permits equates to being a registered gun owner at a Federal level.
Constitutional Carry refers to carry with no permit. You're think of National Carry Ron.

Oh. Well, carry on! I'd be all for that. Right to carry with no permit sounds much better!

I would see that as the ultimate goal, but without a permit. Why should law abiding citizens need permission from the government to carry concealed, when the criminals do it without jumping through any hoops?

Exactly!
Yeah, to me, national permits equates to being a registered gun owner at a Federal level. If you have a county permit and have bought a gun from a dealer in the last couple years .....you pretty much are a gun owner, on the list.
How did we get to the point anyway where you need to pay for a permit to be able to exercise a right?
How did we get to the point anyway where you need to pay for a permit to be able to exercise a right?
Or, why do I need to pay for, have a LEO sign for, and wait for permission to put a jacket on? If I am legal to open carry, why is there a jacket tax?
If open carry is so scary, you would think that the "common sense" solution would be to encourage law abiding citizens to cover up, not pay for the privilege.
If progressives could legally end open carry, it would be gone tomorrow.
IMO, Constitutional Carry is the only "common sense" answer.

Isn't that explicitly implied in the 2nd Amendment? Right to keep and BEAR arms... I don't think having your guns sitting in a safe is bearing them, otherwise it'd be right to keep and store arms. "Where's your CCW permit?" "Uh, Amendment 2, US Constitution..." [Shake]

I've talked about this with some buddies of mine when I lived in WA and my counter to their conceal carry complaint was "then open carry, you have that right but just be sure it's legal where you're doing it." If I remember correctly there was a guy just recently that won a lawsuit against Colorado Springs police department because he was legally carrying his firearm openly and the police thought he was breaking the law so they cuffed him and stuffed him. Open carry is free but can be a hassle by ill-informed citizens and LEOs.
Oh and by the way, I have open carried several times in WA and lets just say you get some of the funniest looks as people shuffle out of your way, it's kinda like the parting of the Red Sea. You can see it on most of their faces, they want to say something to you but they're afraid to at the same time.

Except where it isn't allowed- Boulder, Denver, Golden... O/C there and you could get into some hot water.

Which is exactly why I was always sure to say just be sure it's legal where you're going to do it.
