Saw this article http://www.denverpost.com/politics/ci_25031357/colorado-lawmakers-renew-gun-debate

And they had a pretty good list of all the bills being proposed this year, thought I would share and encourage everyone to write your reps to show your support for this stuff. A lot of good things being proposed. All we need is one Dem to think long and hard about what happened to Hudak/Giron/Morse and this stuff could get passed.

Summary follows:
GOP gun bills in the house:
HB 1041: allows carrying concealed handguns without permits, Reps. Jared Wright and Chris Holbert.
HB1151: repeals ammunition magazine prohibition, Reps. Holbert and Lori Saine.
HB 1097: sales and use tax holiday for firearms, ammo and accessories, Rep. Clarice Navarro-Ratzlaff .
GOP gun bills in the Senate:
SB 094: repeals requirement for background checks for private transfers and repeal fees for checks, Sen. George Rivera.
SB 038: prohibits governments from restricting firearms in an emergency, Sen. Scott Renfroe.
SB 090: expands exemption on background checks to include step, Sen. Randy Baumgardner.
SB 100: repeals magazine ban, by Sens. Baumgardner, Rivera.
SB 135: allows firearms purchases from non-contiguous states if legal in both states, Sen. Greg Brophy.

It would be nice to see these passed, however, what does " expands exemption on background checks to include step," mean? step?

They all sound pretty good to me EXCEPT the BGC exemption one, it sounds entierly too much like admitting defeat too soon to me. Yes I realize we've lost already in most respects, but honestly these need to remain fresh in people's minds and got these Dems tossed out on their asses in the election, and that one is just like admitting we're stuck with it long term and trying to make it less painful. IDK, it's better than the way it is now and normally I'm the first to call out guys like Dudley on the compromise Nazi thing, but this just seems like admitting long term defeat by having what is/should be our team proposing half-assed improvements to a law that they should be 100% focused on getting repealed, not fixing.

Also the tax holiday one, while nice, is pretty pie in the sky/High school student counsel election stuff IMO, ie It sounds good on the surface but standard sales tax on an item isn't the problem right now, It's excess taxes (BGC fee) and the other shit crammed through last year. IMO this bill even being drafted is an insult to our intelligence if it even gets introduced before ALL of the other Key ones are made law.

Still amazed that HB13-1043 slips past so many people's radar. Past HB038 that is the one that will actaully lose us ours guns. I don't know who to talk to so that one gets put back to what it was before last year.

I'd like to see them all pass but none more so than 038.

None have a chance in hell of making out of committee except SB 090. We need at least one to be the focus of general senate debate on the floor to fire up the pro 2nd vote for this years elections.
