View Full Version : Daniel Defense's Rejected Commercial
I saw a lot of guns in commercials for tonight's game. For the NFL to not allow a commercial that doesn't even show a gun is hypocrisy at it's best. The ads for FOX's show "24" zoomed in on the handgun so close you could see the round get chambered. That was like a gun commercial on its own. I also recall seeing a few M16s and other handguns in several other commercials too.
While I do agree with private companies being able to do what they want with their own business, it seems there is a bit of a double standard when a baker has to make cakes for a gay couple, but the NFL can tell Daniel Defense "NO".

Could we inquire as to what channel and even 'game' you were watching? Because I suspect many others didn't see anything "Pro-gun" dealing with the Super Bowl. Just sayin'.

I think it's quite telling that the NFL rejected Daniel Defense's ad but played Coca-Cola's multi-cultural bullshit ad.

He was referring to "other" commercials showing guns, one that comes to mind was a commercial for that stupid "comedy" Brooklyn Nine Nine or whatever its called. Its ok to show guns as long as its for a sit-com but not for real life......sarcasm there for you that didnt get it.....

Frankly, DD was better off with the rejection -- I think they got more play for the commercial (especially with so many people starting to ignore the game as the blowout mountedl and it didn't cost them an arm and a leg.
I don't remember exactly which commercial it was, but I remember seeing a soldier throw his M16A2 in the dirt and then start kissing a Vietnamese girl.

That was the Axe commercial basically depicting dictators, terrorists and war images before revealing their evil looking intentions were in the name of love. Agreed Coca Cola's ad was an abomination. Except for Budweiser all the commercials sucked and I agree with the OP, definitely a double standard.

Audi and Volkswagen had good ads.
Don't forget the ad for Scientology!

The NFL is like any other large entity in todays society. Gay agenda, anti-gun agenda, peace/hippy love agenda... I guess there are more libtards watching two teams of men knock the sweat off of each other.. The NFL has gone soft..... Remember when all the conservative coaches were totally pissed when Namath grew his hair long. ////

The NFL is just another part of the Democrat-Media-Government complex. This is why I started the boycott thread.
We spend a Sunday (which should be The Lord's Day) worshiping a bunch of over paid man/boy Union thugs that play a game in a stadium owned by crony capitalist billionaires subsidized with money stolen from the people via taxes on land stolen from the people by eminent domain who openly support an anti-American, anti-Christian and anti-gun agenda (and refuse to allow the voice of real Americans to be heard even if they're willing to pay the exorbitant fee).
I've often said that Crony Capitalism is nothing more than Fascism without the snappy uniforms and military parades ... then the Super Bowl happens and I see the uniforms and parades.
I got into an argument elsewhere with someone that said I was wrong to say that liberals run the NFL (their argument was that if libs DID run the NFL they'd do away with scoring and hobble better players). My response was:
If Liberals were in charge of the NFL then openly conservative folk like Rush Limbaugh wouldn't be allowed to be part owners of any teams and openly Christian folk like Tim Bebow wouldn't be allowed to play and gun companies like Daniel Defense wouldn't be allowed to advertise during the games.
And if Liberals were in charge of the NFL then they'd blackmail municipalities and take billions of dollars in tax payer money (even though they're extremely profitable) and they'd build their stadiums on land taken from poor folk through eminent domain.
Good thing Liberals aren't in charge of the NFL eh?
The DD ad sucked, anyway.
The DD ad sucked, anyway.
Not the point....
The network clearly isn't afraid of guns. 24 had the most ad time in those commercials. Maybe they simply decided the ad was crap, and decided not to air it? It's a private company, and they have every right to decide what to put on their property.

It's frustrating that the NFL politicizes it that way.
