What indoor range in or near Denver do you go shoot at? I am looking for an indoor range near downtown Denver. Just looking to shoot handguns not rifles. Does anyone know of a good range? How do they charge you at most indoor ranges? By the hour or just a straight up fee? How much does it usually run? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I go to a few different ranges depending on where I am at.
The closest to downtown that I know of is the Silver Bullet.
They are on 38th west of Sheridan (not that close, but about 10 minutes from Park Ave.). Usual price is $10 per hour for members & $15 for non (general Public) you get discounts for LE as well. Afternoons they are not too busy.
The Firing Line is decent & K2 is not bad either and usually not very full.

You can always Google "Denver indoor shooting range" or something like that, and get plenty of details I am sure.

The shootist near Santa fe and dartmouth. $14 with purchase of ammo, no time limit.

Thanks for the replies. Just got back from The Shootist. Not a bad range at all. Thanks again.

I like the shootist, they usually have a decent supply of ammo at reasonable prices. It can get a little loud, but I can just add ear plugs under my earmuffs.

I've only been to the Shootist and Green Mountain Family Shooting Center.

Green Mountain is MUCH cleaner, and MUCH brighter, but you can't do mag dumps and it only has 15 meters for pistol (they do have an in door 100 yard rifle range though).

It seems to me that a lot of the indoor ranges in Denver have a flat fee for shooting, no time limit. I'd much rather be able to buy 30 minutes and get in and out. I've been at Firing line waiting for people to leave, when they stop, come out, chat, leave a lane empty for 15 minutes. People don't do that when they have a time limit.

Firing line just asks about your ammo, Green Mountian checks it, so I don't think you can even preload your mags.

Yeah you can. They just want to see that you aren't shooting non-jacketed, lead stuff. All you need is to show them the box of ammo. Just save a box of WWB and throw whatever you want into it. I've never had them actually open it to see the rounds unless it was something obscure that they weren't familiar with.

You must have a trusting face, or I look like an ammo whore. They opened my boxes and checked the ammo- they said that people try to sneak in Wolf ammo in regular boxes. I some .223, and they were going to open all my boxes of FEd XM193! She opened one, saw the rest were unopened and let them in. I almost don't mind, they run a pretty tight ship over there. I've been places where sweeping people and unopened chambers are common.

I think the difference is that I was always shooting pistol, and haven't seen any common full lead pistol rounds.

the air vent system at the firing line is aweful - nice range though - some "basic supervision" would go a long way to improve safety over there.

I saw some terribly inappropriate firearms handling in the lobby of the silver bullet by 2 customers waiting to get a lane.

the shootist is skanky as hell, they make you buy their targets which arent cheap

I hear Green Mtn is super nice but pricey. and they will terminate your session after a minimum of 30 minutes if others are waiting

That's true, but I've NEVER had to wait for a lane there. Not once.

There isnt anything about No Rapid Fire @ the shootist, and I havent been told anything about it. I know it's not very economical but everybody should know what to expect in a panic (CQ + eye off sights) situation.
