The wife got us tickets to see Alton Brown up in Greeley tomorrow night - and I am looking for a decent dinner place to hit up before the show. Nothing crazy fancy or heavy. Just a decent place to eat near the Union Colony Civic Center.

Mad Cow has good sandwiches and good beer. There's also a Rio within walking distance. If you don't mind something a few blocks away, Santeramos at 1229 10th Ave would be my choice. Good Italian food.

Cables End for Italian. All I got.

Luck dog. I want to see him on tour but have to work.

Its a shame that Alton Brown doesn't make dinner service part of his show.

Best steak is at texas roadhouse. Better than the fancy or expensive ones.

Chinese wonderful inn on 10th

Best italian we can muster is olive garden.

Mexican cazidores (sp) on 35th in the king soopers Parking lot.

Best bbq is on 8th near long john silvers but the name escapes me. Total dive but awesome food.

The deep fried turkey derrick would be fun to see, on stage.

Whistle Blowers. Owned/operated by former Bronco Simon Fletcher. Our very own forum member Whistler taught him everything he knows about BBQ. It's amazing.

That is most definitely NOT Italian. Like saying when on the gulf coast, to go to red lobster for fish.

Sushi One is on 10th. Cheap sushi, positively delicious. Can't go wrong there.

"Sushi One" is very good for sushi (duh).

"Cables" for your typical bar/dinner atmosphere. Similar to Old C's, pretty good food. (Wednesdays are $2 beer night too!)

"Texas Roadhouse" always delivers good food.

"Romas" for Italian/pizza

"Santarmos" for pizza/calzones and amazing Italian nachos.

"Rancho Alegre" if you like AUTHENTIC Mexican food. It's the real deal there.

Those are my recommendations.

I didn't realize this, I guess anymore I just assume everyone on television is a progressive, shame on me. Even more reason to like Alton.

Romas? Have you seen their kitchen? Maybe the one on west 10th but I would eat at phillys cheese steak before Romas and I wouldn't eat at either! Rio is nasty but doable. Del taco is my choice for Greeley. Although the tortilla shop on 10th by harbour freight has some good barbacoa.

I've been inside the one on the east side of town and I refused to order because of the way the tables were, floor, etc. I didn't even order a water I was that grossed out. I only go to the one on 10th. Yes that tortilla shop on 10th is awesome!

God, it's sad when Del Taco is one of the best options for food in town.

I've only ever drank their beer. If I want a calzone, I'll go to DP Dough.

Great food but I'm not sure that Asmo is looking for a 25 minute drive from dinner to the Civic Center.

OK, the review is in on last nights show, and it was fantastic.

I will say, the best part was when he went on an anti-government rant. Worth the price of admission in itself. He essentially echo'd Reagan in that the government IS the problem, not the solution.

If anyone is looking for a good night out, see if you can still get tickets.

Guess I should have recommended the Rio instead. [LOL]

I'm not a big fan of Italian restaurants. The times I've eaten at CE, the food wasn't bad.

Interesting. Even in his podcasts, he steers around politics.

I'm still jealous.

You drove up to greeley from Cspg?

Alton is an interesting character, to say the least.

For italian ;) There are some hidden gems in greeley, you just have to look. Or be dialed in with some of the less than english fluent, locals. I'm going to check out this mexican place a tad north of Whistle Blowers BBQ.

Sounds like a great show!

The Mad Cow has great Sandwiches, Texas for a Steak, Bogies is pretty good bar food, 8th Ave Wing Shack (Although the one on 65th is better) Stuft Burger (I'm not sure there open yet though). And the usual chain restaurants.
