These three statements tell you a lot about our government and our culture:
1. We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics. Funny how that works.
2. We constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come we never hear about welfare running out of money? What's interesting is the first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't.
3. The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing this year the greatest amount of free Meals and Food Stamps ever --- to 47 million people, as of the most recent figures available in 2013. Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us "Please Do Not Feed the Animals." The stated reason for this policy is because "The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."
haha, absolutely 100% true on all points.

Loving your country and loving your government are two different things.
True and sad at the same time.

All great points. All lost on liberals.

Maybe the DOA and the DOI should have a trade.

IMHO there are no more rules and there is no more logic. The marketplace of ideas is dead. It's all agenda, all the time.

And how do many here judge all Muslims? :)

What is the ratio of lunatic muslims compared to standard, run of the mill lunatics?
How do you judge "all muslims" Merl ?

I'd bet the ratio of loonie Muslims is about the same as loonies in the general population. The boring ones don't get any airtime.
I judge all Muslims the same way I judge all Christians or all gun owners. A group of individuals that when you judge em as a group is going to lead to some false assumptions.

They were decent in 2009. They're controlled by idiots now.

Why is it, that idiots inherently become in control of things most of the time?

They're good at breeding.
You reminded me that about two months ago, I got an email from my employer about the annual healthcare enrollment, which said, among other things, "Your premium will rise by $xx (can't remember exactly how much) due to fees added by the Affordable Care Act" ;)

Tea Party
Republican Party
Libertarian Party
Democrat Party
Which party in general will you vote for? I have only one issue that I vote on and that is the second amendment. At this point in time and history, nothing else matters to me. When "they" leave the second amendment alone I will certainly consider other issues. The second amendment is the only thing that lets me write this on a public forum. Without the second amendment there would be no other rights within our control. Its pretty simple to me, vote for the legislator that will protect the constitution and the Bill of Rights in their literal meaning. Vote against those that would regulate OUR RIGHTS with so called common sense law making.
So for now:

If the second is all that matters, then why not libertarian? They support ALL civil rights. The tea party is damaged goods, the only people who take them seriously anymore are their members.

They are all damaged goods, every single one of them and I am not a card carrying member of any party except America and the Constitution. Again, I will vote for the legislator that will protect the second amendment, and really, it doesn't matter what party they are with. If a candidate lies, Tea or otherwise, I will not vote for them. I will leave the box unchecked if I can't support any of them. I do not vote for the lesser of two evils, I don't vote for a candidate or party just to win. It is my choice and my principle. Please, vote your principles, it is the American way. Vote L, R, T or D if you like. It is up to you.
Right now, TEA best describes my overall view of where I want America to go, if you disagree with me, please continue to do so and vote for the candidates that will take America where you want her to go. The bad guys have been plotting for decades to take the freedom of every last person on this planet and I will continue to exercise my freedoms as clearly spelled out in the Constitution and support those that support those freedoms and work against those that would take our freedoms.
Stay free my friend.

How many Libertarians in the US House and Senate? How many Tea Party Republicans in the US House and Senate?
In my opinion, the only people who don't take them seriously are those who listen to the media, which gets it's talking points from democrats, who are afraid of the Tea Party opponents they may have to face. Standard operating procedure for democrats/liberals is to badmouth in the extreme their most worthy opponents at every opportunity in every media outlet that will give them air time.
The examples of that are everywhere if you take the time to look.
I won't even get into the Libertarian party because it's a waste of time.
