I stopped in one day while is was in CS for business. Spoke to a nice guy with a beard and an Australian style cowboy hat. He was informative and answered some questions I had about various guns.
I ended up picking up a couple magazines from him. He seemed like the owner/head honcho in the place and he was willing to calmly listen. I don't remember his name, but he said he played in a band. I would stop by the shop and see if you could talk to him if you are having any issues.
HE is nto the owner.
They have usually had high prices and crap selection.
And the knowledge base is pretty much laughable.
I called them up on a Monday when most shops are closed. I needed a 6/48 screw for a scope base. The guy on the phone said I'd have to wait for the gunsmith to return.

Nice people but the shop is a little unkempt and smells of cigarette smoke.
Their CCW class is top notch.
I've bought ammo there a couple times, their prices seem a little high (but frankly all gun shops do ... even Specialty Sports which is the size of a Walmart).

I went in there once, and it was the last time. They treated me like I didn't matter because I wasn't interested in buying a gun RIGHT THEN.
I call that "Gun store attitude" There was an article in Guns and Ammo about that awhile ago, and the owner personified it.
I bought some ammo from them. I couldn't find what I wanted locally and they offered to order it. It was a bit cheaper including tax than the price with freight I could get ordering it myself. They were just fine to deal with.
I have always had good dealings with them, very accomodating, prices fair on most things. Alot of hang arounds behind counter so knowledge depends on who you talk to, but in return plenty of people to help you. I appreciate it as an old school shop vs corporate.

Paul Paradis( hence the name Paradis+e)and his wife are good folks and they employ a couple of polite and helpful folks including an a super nice Aussie.
They are honest and operate with integrity.
They also have THE BEST concealed carry course for new folks that I have ever seen. My wife took their class and had the pleasure of firing everything from black powder, shotguns, bolt actions, and evil black rifles as well as SA revolvers to the latest DA/SA Semi pistols.
I have also had some gunsmithing done and purchased 2 firearms from them. One in stock and one ordered.

where do they conduct the actual shooting part of the classes?
thanks

A range out near Canyon city.
I have never been there but my wife, who took the class, said it was clean.

Figured that I would revive this review.
I've never had anything but a great experience with Paradise, Sue and her staff has always been very helpful!
I purchased my XDm .40S&W 3.8" From her over a year ago and every time I walk in the door Im greeted with a smile and "Hey Dave!!"
I got a great price on my XDm after comparing, the paperwork went quick, they were great on Ammo prices and a pretty knowledgeable staff.
Nothing but good things to say about them.
