Gateway Elementary and Woodland Park High Schoolhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png (http://www.kktv.com/home/headlines/Lockdow-at-Two-Woodland-Park-Schools-245277161.html#) are on lockdown Wednesday afternoon.
We're told a suspicious man was seen in the area. He was wearing camo, a backpack and in his 30s.
Right now, police say they are searching the high school.
We have a crew on the way.

Are you kidding me. Half the population of Woodland park wears camo and owns a backpack? I didn't know that was cause for suspicion?

That's what I thought. It was a pain I went to the middle school to get my kids off the bus. The kids were all pretty worked up with all kinds of crazy rumors

The last century has spiraled to strange new heights... the industrial age, the technical age, the dot com age, the iWhatever age, and now we have entered "The overreaction age." [facepalm]

HA! That's what my mom said! I had to send her to get my little girl while I picked up my son from middle school. My son asked me, "dad, tell me again why they teach us not to defend ourselves?" Good question son...

Good God. I could never leave the house if we were locked down every time someone walked around Bailey looking suspicious and wearing camo.

I thought in Bailey you looked suspicious if you weren't wearing camo. [Coffee]

Not just retard, full retard. I think I see guys wearing camo with backpacks on every street corner and Walmart would be on a permanent lockdown if that were the policy at walmarts.

The guy must have been wearing "assault" camo.

You must be kidding, I wore that to school in woodland park as a kid. What a joke. When I was a kid the big scare (obviously never caused a "lock down") was all the super scary satan worshipers and witches which supposedly lived mainly in Manitou. COMMON PEOPLE!

When you completely strip people of the ability to defend themselves, they're scared of everything.

The latest...

Officers ultimately found nothing suspicious. Students were released at 4:10 p.m. after officers cleared the high school.
The man, who officials say looked like he was in his 30s, was seen wearing camo and a backpack. Not everyone who saw him thought he looked dangerous.

"I honestly...thought he was a high schooler, maybe waiting for his friend to come and get him, or just hanging out maybe," one student told 11 News.

Wearing of camo on or near school grounds soon to be outlawed.....

Sounds like my kid when I drop him off at school. During the cold days, I throw on my hunting jacket and the backpack I use for my gym clothes is camo as well. I suspect that DPD will eventually take me down one day because of my threatening gym socks.

What a shame they have gone dumb so quick up there. I graduated there in 2001 and carried (and used) a pocket knife at school every-single-day along with many other guys. Even made potato guns to bring to school to show off and fire outside WITH the science teacher. The guys frequently had a chew in and fights happened off school grounds without any police or hospital trips. This story makes me feel old.
