View Full Version : Hodgdon Load Data Website - New Format

Just went to the Hodgdon load data website and freaked out. It used to be a nice format where you could print out on a single page at 10pt font the list of ALL loads for a given cartridge. Now, you'd be lucky if you can get 2 loads on a single page.
Anyone else seen it yet? Am I the only one who feels like they no longer need their Rx glasses to read the website? [Dunno]

I have copies of their previous format for 9mm, 45acp, 38/357 data for TG if you'd like a copy.

Thanks kazoo, but I don't use TG (only because I haven't seen it for sale).
It would be nice if the user had the option of selecting the new "recipe box print it out on a note card" format, or the old database style that makes getting lots of data at once easy.

I selected three bullet weights and seven powders and got 35 loads.
Not sure what your link was about.
I actually like the new filters to select the powders I have, but easily copying/pasting them into Excel isn't working now. No matter, I pulled all the data I needed weeks ago.

brutal, my link was about the ginormous font and huge real estate that each load data takes up. It used to be the load data took up one line and it had columns for each variable, like an excel spreadsheet. Now you can't do that and you also have to scroll the page to see the full load data, which is inconvenient and frankly, unsafe in my opinion, since you could scroll, look away, then look back and look at the wrong data.
Guess I'm the only one that doesn't like the new format. Oh well.

Gotcha.
So you know if you click-scroll you can change the size of the browser screen fonts on the fly, and if you use print preview (at least in firefox) you can easily scale printouts?
FWIW, I put the data in a spreadsheet and then I can reference it, organize it and make notes, etc.

Save the trees. What are you going to build your house out of , MEAT?

I was thinking about building a bacon shack, but deemed it unworthy. My luck, I would eat the roof, right before it rains...
But...I'm still contemplating how much bacon I can integrate into my TG load data...[mop]

Oh thank god, someone else realizes how big of a change it is besides me!
Now I don't feel so crazy. Still probably a little crazy, but its less than before.

They have omitted a lot of misc bullets and seem to be focusing on "name brand ", like Hornady. They also lowered the powder charge min & max weight.

The old presentation had much more information about the barrel length & primer used

They've certainly provided much fodder for forum discussions! Across the 'net, lots of discussion about their new site. Imnsho, it's an overuse of web technology... I like the old one better. There, I said it!!

Exactly, they should have just made a website chock full of Flash animations, swooshy noises, zippy pages, more animations, etc and then we'd REALLY be excited about it. [facepalm]

Nice new format......I like it. Plus I can compare load data between IMR 4895 and H4895 for 308 and 3006 Match Kings....

They seem to have changed it. Before, the load for each bullet/powder was in one column like block, about 3" wide on the screen and 8" long.
Now they switched back to rows with buttons to hide other bullets. I want the old system back. [Cry]

I like it. You don't have to pick a powder or even a bullet weight. Brass, primer, barrel length, etc all right across the top... add a cartridge, expand all / collapse all...
Takes some time to know where to look for everything, but it's all right there at your fingertips.
I don't care for the cards.

Likewise. Inability to change bullet mfg isn't good. Unless i missed something??

Hit "expand all" and it will show you all of the different bullets' data (if there's more than one).

I am a little curious about the .223 data for Hornady's 55gr fmj... they list Trail Boss, Titegroup and Clays.

Already did. it's like reading the Hornady book.
