I've been wanting a Sig MK25 for a little while now and was going to pick one up soon. Now, I've kind of been leaning towards the M11-A1 instead. Another part of me was thinking about skipping the Sig altogether and picking up something else for half the price and starting another AR project.

I have my own list of pros and cons between the two Sigs and will probably post them up this evening.

Just thought I would would see what you guys thought about it or which route you would go. Maybe some of you will say something I haven't thought of to help me along in my decision making process.

Thanks.

I have the Sig 226 Combat (same as an MK25) and I love it. I do however have a major issue with the slide locking back on empty...BUT, its because of my grip, not the gun. Other than that I have had no malfunctions and its probably the most accurate handgun I own. Another downfall is normal p226 holsters are too small. The rail on the MK25 and Combat are true MIL-STD-1913 rail so its a few millimeters larger the standard rails. I havent had issues with accessories other than a holster though. I'm also wanting a M11-A1 as well. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I'm sure you are probably aware of these issues, but I figured I would point them out just in case.

I was in the same boat as you Ray. I held a sig P226 9mm (I think it was an elite) and I was in love. I was counting my pennies and when I finally had the coin I decided that it wasn't "practical" for me. I didn't really have a "use" for it and I knew it would just sit in the safe. I opted to build another AR15 instead.

I still would like one eventually to add to the collection but for now I'm happy with my decision. Signs makes a very nice firearm. Good luck on your decision and post pictures if you get one!

Only Sig I have shot is a SP2022 I own. For the sub $500 price I love it. Fun at the range and I would trust it to save my life. Picked it over a G19 due to price and how it felt in my hand, glad I did. Only real complaints are the decocker being a bit awkward and Sig mags are expensive as hell.

I have had (and still have) several Sig handguns, including a P226 Tac-ops, so I am familiar with the platform. I am just hung up in wanting the MK25 since it is the official issue item to the Navy Seals. And, I like the rail on it more than the standard Sig models.

The main reason the M11-A1 intrigues me is because it comes standard with the SRT trigger and has the same capacity as the larger P226 in a slightly smaller package. Also, I think it is the same as the ones the Navy issues their pilots. I think.

Love my Sigs.

Assuming you know the M11 comes with the SRT and short trigger stock, what is your intended use of either?

[whoops, I guess I should refresh the thread before saving my post]

Just a range toy. I like stuff that is pretty authentic military style stuff. Don't want an M9 because I find them a bit awkward and unergonomic.

If it were me, MK25 and possibly install the SRT and short trigger.

However, my P226's shoot hella good with the regular triggers.

I know you have a soft spot for that caliber but it just isn't my thing. I'm just more mainstream I guess.

My EDC

But the P226 full size platform in 9mm is sooo nice to shoot.

I will second this. I went to the range earlier this week and was practicing with my 226 with a SRT, then shot by buddies HK P30 (which is also an amazing firearm). But the sig shot so much better with that SRT.

Hopefully this weekend I'll have another Sig to review, if I can get to the range. My father in law gave me a Sig TacOps 5" with accessories and 2 extra mags on our trip to see him in Tucson this weekend. He also gave my wife a Lady Smith revolver to add to her CCW choice.

have you considered the new P320 striker fired model?

Looks like a striker fired P250. Think I'm going to pass on that one.

Thanks for making me aware that it existed. I had no idea.
