I'm in the market for an SKS and have a possible one available. Its a Norinko SKS two years old. Scoped with a Norinco (??) scope. What is is worth? I really dont know much about these rifles but wanted something in 7.62x39 because of the cheap ammo and I've always wanted one for some reason. I shot one back in the early 90's and thought it was cool.

No Chicom / Norinco SKS is 2 years old. Aim had them for $2-399 last week. What kind of scope mount, Pinned or threaded bbl to receiver, stamped or milled trigger group.
Most importantly How Much?

If it is like new or excellent condition 300$, if not 250$. I think AIM still has some for299$.

I guess the cosmonline was cleaned off two years ago. I'm not sure about the other stuff. I'm just afraid people think an SKS now a days is worth more than it is. A $400 SKS should have what? Anything that really devalues it or makes it more valuable?

A $400 sks should have 3-500 rds of ammo with it. IF it has anything other than the stock receiver cover, I would consider it USED.

At 400$ for a chicom ska I would pass. You cam find a Russian sks for 400$.

Keep in mind the sks that have been recently imported from Albania are nothing to look at. These are the ones that aim and classic and the like are selling right now. They are very functional but many have worn bluing and almost all of them have beat up stocks. If you want a nicer looking sks, the older norinco imports are the way to go. They should run you around $350-$375. If your feeling frisky, royal tiger has $199 broken stock sks for sale right now. I have bought many of these and they are decent rifles. The same Albanian imported guns but with broken stocks. They have cracked stock option for $219 as well. Only thing is I think you need an FFL to order from them or have your c&r.

What Albanian ? Aim has Chi-Com SKS for $299. That's $100 less then the op is looking at with who knows what else done to it besides the "scope mount".

They are guns that china gave to Albania for aid. Yes they are Chinese but they came from Albania.

Check these out: http://www.royaltigerimports.com/shop.html#!/~/product/category=2251802&id=28008033. Select the broken stock option for $199. Now that I look closer it appears you can upload your FFL's info and they will contact them.. So I think you can buy without a FFL or c&r.

You must have an ffl or c&r to purchase. Considering it's a gunsmith special, I'd drop the extra cash, for one you know is good. Unless you have access to headspace guages, and Smith experience, pass on it.

I have yet to see one of these come with a mismatch bolt... And I have seen several hundred. The only damage they have are cracked or broken stocks. No head spacing required or anything I think would require a smith. There is also a chance(about 20%) that you will walk away with a Russian.

Does the fact that it is a Norinco model 26 with norinco scope in good shape say anything about it? They want $400 to $500 without much ammo included. I think im going to pass but I am in the market for a good one, just looking for a deal.

Sound a like a bad deal for you. Unless it's one of the early imported farmers friend or the like that came with the scope installed originally. It's doubtful it's one of those as they are fairly rare.

No and no, how many times we need to point you towards the $2-300 chinese? Buying a $299 from aim and the ammo is going to run you $520 not incl s&h and transfer. You do the math.

50 boxes/ 1K of 7.62x39 is $219 + Shipping.
