Women biathlon! Chicks with guns on TV. Can't beat that!

Note: in the Anti gun republic of France where i grew up, the only way you could get a 22lr rifle before your 18th birthday was to be registered as a biathlon racer.... which I did when I was 15.... living in Paris and training only once a year just to renew the license....

The women's curling team from the UK has me a bit more interested in curling this year.

I could not imagine growing up in Paris. Other parts of France I could understand. Of course I learned to switch to english in Paris because a Belgian accent did not seem to go over too well back in the early 80's. [Beer]

Oh yes! Glad someone else noticed. Other then the Russians see through skating tights the curling is the sport to watch.

Funny you posted this because I was watching it and the wife comes in and sits down and after a minute or so I hear 'Whoa, that chick is hot!' and then she was glued to the TV. lol

Obscure but true; my little sister made the quarter-finals for the 2006 World Championship for Curling, which determined the US team. Nobody had heard much of curling before then, and it was pretty much "you're in a curling club, you're in competition for a spot". Her team lost, and she had to find contentment in advanced mathematics instead. Such is life.

Personally, I'm a fan of Noelle 'Big-Bottom' Pikus-Pace of the US Skeleton Luge. The fact that she was involved in a 'freak bobsled incident' where a four-man sled shot off the track and hit her in the back in 2005 just adds delicious irony to her appeal.

So awesome for her to come back and get a Silver medal. Too bad Kate missed the podium by 0.04 second though. Bitter sweet to watch the end of that one for sure though.

I wish they'd make a channel with just the olympic sports. I hate the fluff crap. NBC Sports channel is doing a decent job but prime time coverage is killing me inside.
