Just curious if anyone was going. I have been there before, but it was way before Dec 2012 when things were reasonably priced. it seems like hit and miss on prices. its an auction with consignments, so you really never know the quality your going to get. last i remember, the buyers premium was over 15% :0

Not with a 15 percent premium seems really high for the right to buy something.

A 15% "buyer's premium"... LOL. The buyer's can eat that cost, the auctioneer can take home less money, or I'll just stay home.

And everything gets WAY over bid, to boot.

I have been to a few of those type of auctions in the past year and there were no good deals to be found. People get into stupid bidding wars and end up paying 15 to 20% above what they could have bought the item for new (that is even before you factor in the buyer's premium).

yeah, its a bummer things go so far and above of actual retail. they have a specific gun in the auction i have been looking for- i am not even going to bother trying to bid on it

You can't let a buyers premium stop you. Several years ago I picked up a NIB Browning Superposed Mallard and a 95% Winchester model 21 for $3K total plus $300 buyers premium. Only took about a week to turn a 200% profit. Deals like that are few and far between but they do happen.
