Now, I'm not disputing this statement. I know for a fact from personal observation that many -- if not most -- young people (in this case defined as 20-somethings) are knuckleheads. What I find ludicrous is her next statement:

Obama added that thanks to Obamacare (http://washingtonexaminer.com/section/obamacare), coverage for young people was much cheaper.
"Now young people can get insurance for as little as $50 a month, less than the cost of gym shoes," she explained.

I guess someone who thinks nothing of spending $15000 on a dress also wouldn't think much of spending $600/yr on gym shoes but where the heck do you find such expensive footwear? I think my most expensive New Balance shoes were $90 or thereabouts and they usually last quite a bit longer than a year (okay, I don't go to the gym as much as I should).

I can't wait to see how she lives the lifestyles of the rich and famous when it's no longer on the taxpayer's dime ...

I read somewhere about her earnings going from $1m to $12m a year since becoming 1st lady; sure she will have no issue. Even at her prior earnings of $1m. If true....

Air Jordan's are now "collectable" and going for (asking price) $10K-$15K on ebay.
There's an autographed pair on their now for (asking) $100K.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=air+jordan&_sop=16

I was excited when I used to get "High Top" Converse All Stars for $20-$30/pr.
That was a LOT for my parents to spend on "sneakers", as they called them, compared to those for $7 at K-Mart (Wal-mart was not yet "invented" at that time).

The 27+ age range she is talking about are part of the group holding this sinking ship afloat. Sure they can get it as "low" as $50 a month but at that age they can have their lives pretty well sorted out and its not going to be the "low low payment of $50 a month" for the ones that do. Then nerve of that family makes me sick.

Yeah, and the dumbass's don't realize they have to put $5-8K out of their pocket before any of their "Benefits" kick in.

This is pure comedy. Sure, you can get the young kids to the voting booth but good luck getting them to open their wallet on something they don't think they need.

My health insurance is around $400 a month, AFTER my employer contribution. That's for three people though.

Of course, the part she isn't saying is that while those 27-30 year olds may get a policy for $50/mo, the actual cost of keeping them healthy is probably more like $10-20 / mo so she's asking them to pay double or triple what they ought to in order to subsidize her husband's stupidity and bullheaded Marxism.

First, I think it's always going to be on our dime- don't they get sustained income for life? But yes, talk about disconnected. She wouldn't know an average person if one came up and (deservedly) punched her in the stupid mouth. I've never seen any of my acquaintances (even the ridiculously wealthy ones) spend nearly as much as that moronic ******* ****-***** does on their wardrobe.

$50 a month!? I have yet to hear of anyone I know (and I'm 28) my age that's been quoted nearly that low. $50 a month is a steal! But it seems highly unlikely under O-care.

Think you missed the point the "low" price is only for the people that are making minimum wage and get substitutes. When you get out there and start zip tying people up i would love to hear what you get quoted through Obamacare.

I wasn't quoting you to bash you, I was more saying in line with you... I didn't miss anything, just stating how every word that comes out of anyone's mouth with the last name of Obama seems to be 80% lies. I don't really have a dog in the O-care fight, I'm on the VA program, but my GF's healthcare is anything but "affordable"- and that's why this whole thing stinks.

I'm 32 and the lowest I could get my Obamacare was $79 a month, this price is with a subsidy which I qualified for. I declined the subsidy and now pay $230 a month, which is almost twice what I was paying before my policy was canceled and I was forced to enter the "ACA market".

Fuck Obamacare and Fuck Michelle Obama

I'm 58 and my wife is 50. After my employer's contribution I am now paying just about $1000 a month and it is crushing me. It was less than half that when I started here and as soon as the ACA was passed it went up and then up again for this year. I went to the exchange and anything that we can qualify for will, after a subsidy, run me over $1400 a month with higher deductibles and higher co-pay per visit. Now I guess I have a two year reprieve thanks to our benevolent dictator.

We have got to get these progressive politicians out of office for good.

I can remember when a person did not need insurance for a doctor visit, insurance was for stuff like a broken arm, etc..

The feeble attempt to get 27+ somethings on the plan to offset the higher costs for sick people is laughably ironic when you consider that the ACA keeps <26 somethings on their parent's plan. It used to be only 19-25 year olds on the 'rents plan if they were in school. Now pajama boy can lay around in mom's basement until he turns 27, then he can avoid getting "job-locked," keep coverage, and play air guitar all day on my dime.

Stupid C*** that rhymes with hunt.

$50 a month BULLSHIT. The wife unit's went up to $400 from $325 a FUCKING MONTH(she has asthma), and we make TOO MUCH for the tax credit. Together we make under 40K a year, glad our cars are paid off. FBHO We even took a trip to the Connect for health Colorado office in Longmont and we basically told to pound sand. Michelle can eat a big old shit sandwich and wash it down with a diet coke.
