Hello everyone - it's been a long time since I've been around the boards, but with some recent winter upgrades to my AR (new gas block, flip-up sights, etc.), I'm looking to get out to do some plinking. I used to drive to the spot south of Pine, and I know of the clearing west of Lyons near the P2P highway, but those locations are about 90 minutes from downtown.
Is there anything closer in, say west of Golden, Morrison or Boulder? I have 4WD and can tackle moderate to extreme forest roads if necessary. I remember seeing a clearing people used on the Yankee Hill 4x4 trail outside of Central City, but I'm guessing that's still snowed over.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
