The way that lady was trying to get back in her car makes me wonder if there's a kid in there !!!
Now this D-bag gets 3 hots and a cot.
Why the hell would you leave your kid in the car with the keys in it at the pump. The guy is a douche but the mom who left her kid in the car holds some responsibility in this.

And this is why our significant others need to have a firearm in the car and be sure to lock the doors if they dont do so automatically.

Good deal. I pray the driver who got crushed in the intersection before the foot chase is ok. This shit really makes me mad.

Yeah I'm having my wife watch this over and over until it sinks in! He stole 3 cars the first one had a 4 year old in it.... But all of the cars he stole had women in them not men.. Police really did a good job you can quarterback it all day long but no one got seriously injured! Job well done everyone goes home! Victims and police! As far as I know anyway. Just watching the news.

Well its official ... we've become California ... TV interrupted with a car chase :p
Wondering about a scenario....
D-bag tries to carjack someone who is armed.
Citizen shoots D-bag.
Amped up cops with guns don't know if it is citizen defending themselves or D-bag firing on citizen.
Cops open fire on situation. And a few errant bullets hit something other than the intended target.

(This picture is NOT illustrating a similar situation, only that adrenaline and stress affects your marksmanship)
I'm not bashing cops... but this is an adrenaline - filled situation for all... and is probably an important thing to think about.
And now the media will have something to orgasm over for the next week.

Something similar crossed my mind while I was listening to the live reports on my way to work. I always have a handgun in easy reach while driving. I don't think I would let someone pull me out of my car.
I'd like to know how he got the door open to begin with (don't all cars lock automatically when you put it in gear now?), but assuming he could get it open, what would be the impact on your life to have to pop some asshole trying to carjack you? You know damn well some criminal-loving Lefty groups would want your head for ending this dirtbag with your evil killing machine.

From what I've gleaned over the decades, the state wants to convict & sentence someone for every incident. I don't know if that's due to political aspirations on the part of certain DA's or what, but if the carjacker is dead on the pavement, I think the state is still going to want their pound of flesh from somebody.

The newer ones do, but mine all do as well. It is automatic for me to lock my door, and I impress upon my loved ones that they should do it as well. As automatic as my seatbelt is, so goes the door lock. It is one extra layer of protection from the d-bags that are out there.

Apparently a trooper got hit and is in serious condition. Going through surgery now. I didn't see it when I was watching it the first time but when they showed the replay he got clipped pretty good! Thoughts and prayers with him and his family!

Haven't we had enough slow white Broncos on TV already this year?
Wow, just watch the video. Guy is lucky it wasn't one of us with a CCW. He would of been DRT had he tried to steal my truck.

I was thinking the same thing... But even unarmed, why didn't the minivan (car #2 that he stole) just put it in reverse and floor it as he opened the door?

multiple arrests--as recently as within a month for possession /distribute, but I guess we should expect him to be out and about behaving poorly.
definately an Obama supporter.

Not mine, its a standard transmission. I can't stand that and disabled this feature on my work vehicle. Lots of stops and getting out while the vehicle is still running. They wouldn't unlock when put in park. If I want the doors locked, I'll lock them. I don't need a nanny state car looking out for my safety.

Last I heard from people on the call is that trooper may lose leg. That is from about 3:00 PM. If anyone has an update I would appreciate it.
That video is intense. Guy should have been killed long before he did so much damage. Kudos to the officers at the end resisting the urge for some street justice.

The news reported that he is expected to make a full recovery.
He was at 64th and Pecos as I was leaving for work. I was glad I was taking my kid to school today. His next move was south toward I-25 and I was getting tense. BUT it was over before I even got kid to school.
The one thing that really stands out to me about this is, even if I TRIED to drive like that down I-25, there is NO way I could have gotten all over town that fast during morning rush hour. I was listening to this on the way in to work thinking, "Maybe I should reconsider taking E-470 in the morning..."
My wife was GLUED to the TV this morning and very tense. I'm glad she watched the whole thing. Very glad that 4 year-old from the first car was okay and I hope the officer is doing alright as well.
