That might be the place some Chinese friends took us for Dim Sum. It was in an older shopping center with several Korean and Chinese shops and restaurants. Very busy with a long line to be served. My friends are from Hong Kong, and pretty particular about their Dim Sum, said there was one place much better than the others. Don't remember the name of the place but they had a great variety of foods.

My friends mentioned a restaurant in Broomfield that had good Dim Sum, too.

If you like family friendly sort of restaurant where they roll the bun and rapid steam them at your table, speed wrap your shu Mai and ha kao on the cart, or roll the egg in front of you.. This is the best place. It's kind of Benihana teppanyaki, but the cook doesn't speak Spanish.

It's not the crowd, it's the location. Oddly enough, it's in the middle of Nuevo Juarez...I won't say I've been scared down there, but I definitely have a heightened awareness of my surroundings.

I've never found a Dim Sum restaurant in CO that makes truly authentic Cantonese Dim Sum. Hell, my wife and I order dim sum speaking Cantonese and the waitstaff gives us a deer in the headlights look. It's CO. You take what you can get.

Cantonese Dim Sum comes with spit pots, folks standing behind your chair rudely waiting for your table, and waitstaffs/owners who will not serve you unless you speak cantonese? No thanks LOL.. [Coffee]

I think you're thinking of Pho Duy which was on Peoria and Smith-ish but they moved further south. I want to say Alameda-ish but not sure. IMO they are ok but 79 is much better. And that's a whole other thread. :)

6th & Peoria just east of Ace Hdwe. Not trying to correct kwando, but if unfamiliar with area, DM & Peoria may cause some head scratching.
Ate there last night. Also a huge fan of 79 (Mississippi & Havana) as jmetz mentioned.

Nah. A lot of it consists of pork and shrimp. Some of it can get wild, such as jellyfish, snails, beef tripe and chicken feet. I've tried it all. True Dim Sum is basically common people food. Appetizers. If you have an open mind to different flavors and the texture, you'll enjoy it.

And that's a whole other thread. :)correct on the location but 79 isnt as good. 53 was much better but it just got turned into a mexican joint. Because the city put medians turning in and 79 has better signage.

53 had the best rice beef platter and broth that actually tasted like beef broth. 79 broth is watered down. They all trump the excuses for pho that are up here though.

One of the duy cooks worked for me part time. Holy hell they abuse the staff there. He made $60/week working 6 10s and theyd take his shift meals out of his pay. But they let him crash on their couch. Never work for family.

Picky eater, I don't like many vegetables unfortunately. I also don't drink tea unless I have a cold and it has a lemon's worth of juice and a tablespoon of honey in it. Odd how I made it through sere school in the army, and I like eating somethings others find gross, like calamari.

That is my regular place, I work right across the street... I have it at least once a week LOL

Most of the time more than that.

I'll buy lunch at Pho 888 to the person that can find the COAR sticker in the area!

I work with a few people that gag at the sight and smell of anything that once lived in the water. One even said tilapia was too fishy tasting. We had a retirement lunch for our last branch chief and crab cakes were served to every table as an appetizer and one woman had to leave the table because she was dry heaving from the smell.

For me, it's bitter tastes that get to me which is why veggies are a selective group. Took me a while to even be able to drink light beer, guees that's about the only good part of starting to drink in high school. Even now I like craft beers, but I prefer malty (not sweet though) to hoppy. It really sucks because I know I miss out on foods that are good for me and I end up filling up more on the less good for me foods. Beer only came about because it's a test of manhood for a teenager, no one ever made me prove how much of a man I am by chowing down broccoli.
