View Full Version : Looking for a new pistol, need suggestions.

Ok I'm looking for a suppressor ready 9mm. I would like to find a full size pistol, with raised sights and threaded barrel. Anyone know of one? I don't want to buy a new pistol, change the sights, and buy a threaded barrel if there is one gtg out of the box.

Smith and Wesson had an M&P 9mm with a threaded barrel a while back.

Sig P226R Combat

How does the Combat differ from the Scorpion? I haven't found either with raised sights.


CZ's are usually good to suppress, but I don't know if they have any already threaded.

Can't find a PO7 anywhere in stock with threaded barrel.

How does the Combat differ from the Scorpion? I haven't found either with raised sights.

The Scorpion is arguably prettier, but it also has a beavertail. The Combat P226R TB comes with a factory threaded barrel, SCT, and raised sights. It also came with 20 round mags (4 of them if I recall) so if you are able to find a Combat TB, you may have to source your own mags depending on whether the nature of the seller. Both the Scorpion and the Combat come in a standard P226 and a P226 TB (threaded barrel) version. I'm not sure about the Scorpion TB, but the Combat TB has raised sights, or at least they used to.

I 2nd the p226 Combat. I have one and I love it. Mine didnt come with 20 round mags though, I think that is the tactical. You are welcome to try mine out if you would like. One thing to note is the barrel is reverse threaded since its from europe... Righty Loosey, Lefty Tighty...

I went and looked it up. You're right; it is the Tactical.

Another couple of details I recalled about the Combat though (and I verified them before posting :)) is that the internals are phosphate coated, same as the MK25, and the barrels are chrome lined.

All things considered, the P226 by itself is a phenomenal firearm. The P series from Sig are hands down my favorite handguns. The Combat just makes everything better.

I wouldn't think the P-07, but more the full size tactical P-01 or Shadow or whatever it is called now.

I have handled the scorpion and it was nice. I did a little searching and can't seem to be able to find the combat that you guys describe.

I know a lot of people dont like the CS at Denver Guns and Ammo, but that guy has a hard on for sig. Ive never seen more Sigs in my life in one place. Its worth checking.

CZ has a new polymer full size pistol, the P-09, that is available in a threaded model.

2nd on Denver Guns and ammo. Lots of Sig goodness. Just speak up and ask for help and they will assist, maybe not the Russian.

Sorry, complete lack of brain function. I typed that in and forgot that you were looking for 9mm. I've been looking at new .45's lately. Let me rewire my brain for a moment[Bang]
