Looks like our favorite former state senator has gone back to work as an accountant.

He's not really a disgraced senator. he was recalled for not listening to his constituents. He wasn't caught with his dick in another persons anus, or vice versa. That would be disgraced. OR applauded, in today's society. .

Jim, respectfully, I disagree. I think it's far more disgraceful to fail to do what is described in your job title (represent) than simply be promiscuous when it comes to elected officials in the house or senate... When there is no representation, there is the risk of tyranny.

disĀ·grace/disˈgrās/
noun

loss of reputation or respect, esp. as the result of a dishonorable action.

verb

bring shame or discredit on (someone or something).

I stand by my word choice for the title.

Furthermore it shows what a carpetbagging arsehole he is ... John Morse of DENVER.

He never gave two shits about the proles in Colorado Springs he "represented".

I'd bet he liked being President of the Senate (and the ego boost that goes along with it) a lot more than he likes doing tax returns. [Flower]

Can't see the website from work but I'd have to say I'm surprised he hasn't landed some cushy "spokesperson" or "legislative coordinator" job with MAIG. Does former State Senator John Morse even have training in accounting? I thought all his college work was in political science or something like that.

Turbo Tax even makes me feel like a tax prep professional.

Ah, the Gazette mentioned it last month and Wikipedia (for what that's worth) says he was a CPA before he got into public affairs. I'm still surprised -- should send a message to all those legislators about just how much Bloomberg has their backs ... [ROFL1]

PI would love to see his business fail, get audited by the irs and he goes to prison for tax fraud along with most of the people who does work for.

In order to lose reputation or respect you must first have it.

He was elected repeatedly, someone must have respected him (and probably still does)

Doubtful. He was elected twice (which is not the same as "repeatedly") in a district that is filled with transient voters; I'm pretty sure his narrow margin of victory (less than 300) on his reelection was aided largely by people voting party-line "D" and a third party candidate that took in a substantial portion of the vote. I think he was caught off-guard by the number of solid Democrat voters that were willing to cross the lines to toss him out of office (Giron was definitely clueless about that and in a state of denial). Senate District 11 was also gerrymandered -- there is no rhyme nor reason to the way it carves neighborhoods. I'm not a telepath so can't read the minds of those who carved out the district the way they did but I DID get a flash of "aha" insight when I saw party affiliations along the borders of what was included or excluded from the district.

He was BARELY elected twice in what is probably the most ridiculously gerrymandered district in the state and was unable to hold onto to it even by bribing college students at CC with pizza for votes.

(and this is what happens when you leave a response open for several minutes before you hit the reply button eh Aloha? :p )
