Totally correct.
I had an appointment last Wednesday, and an appointment today. Both appointments were in the same building, on the same floor. And less then a week apart.
In that time they lost my medical records. No. Shit. Gone.
Sigh.
I bet Army Rangers don't have to put up with this. But they swear more.

If some wigged out vet all hyped up on PTSD came stomping into my office, I'd "lose" his medical records too. The only one to blame here is you. Serving your country has consequences, deal with it.
Do you think I need a smiley for that post?

Damn, you make PTSD sound good. Is it in pill form?

Yep been dealing with them for way too long. People wonder why I quit going to the VA with my issues and went to civilian doctors. At least they pretend to help

It was for rating evaluation. Had to go. Typically I just use TriCare.

My grandfather a WWII vet got treated pretty good in Cheyenne, I took him a few times and had no complaints. I had to beat the shit out of 4 cocksuckers with a coat rack to get an xray but I had no complaints.

My .002$; I have had nothing but a good experience with the V.A. I used to see a regular doc, when i realized I could go to the V.A. I had heard horror stories so i never went. Then one day, I found myself broke, called the V.A. , and they have taken care of me since!
I give them 95%, 5% off because of the reputation that has been thrown on them.

I'm surprised[Sarcasm2] considering how the VA is pimping their version of health care to me. Received almost as much literature as i do from the NRA.

I've been to several different VAs and there are some good folks there but I've found those are few and kinda far between. That's why when I volunteered a while back I went out of my way to make sure the vets had top service. Even met some brothers that served on Guadal Canal, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa.

Thanks for for the good laugh!

Had a good buddy in Germany that got diagnosed with cancer and they kept "losing" his medical records, he started making copies and told me I should do the same. A few years ago I lost my ankle brace and went to the VA to get another one, low and behold, they had lost my medical records. The look on they're face when I said I had copies was priceless.

Good advice thanks! How did you get the records to copy?

This is good advise with the DMV and the courts as well.
Also on a serious note. My neighbor does a thing called Vets Helping Vets to help guys get benefits. My neighbor can be pretty fuddy about some stuff, but I get the impression that he's pretty good at navigating the VA stuff. Let me know if anyone wants his number.

I quit going to the VA too. Whiskey, shooting, and the gym do it for me.

I was just at the nice, new Golden facility yesterday for my annual check-up... I couldn't be happier with the way the VA treats me. Health issue? No problem, we'll take care of you. Had an infection last year and they got me fixed up in 2 days. I have also been told I have one of the best primary care providers in the Eastern Colorado VA system, so I count myself lucky. I'm kind of shocked they have the reputation that they do.

What records specifically?
The VA (and others) are constantly pimping their electronic records.
Everyone with a clinical background has had to do some time training at the VA. Mine was a long time ago, but even back then their records were pretty impressive and ahead of most of the rest of the HC world.
That's why I'm curious how they could lose it. Not doubting you, just curious what it was.

As in you brought outside paper charts or they had them?

Besides, didn't you get the message? As a vet, you're high on the candidate list for being a terrorist. Eric Holder is probably reviewing your medical records right now.

This was back in Germany 10years ago, when I ETS'd. While I was out processing I snuck them over to our motorpool and made a dozen copies.

It is theirs. I have a copy of most of it somewhere.

They had quite a few 7-15 inch thick files behind the counter.

Which begs the question of why they spend so much time pimping their e-records?
Nothing like all that duplication to waste a bunch of time and money.

I have a buddy that is a marine.. blown back and knees.. real messed up ....
The VA told him he was dead. Had to get a senator involved and even made the local news.

This is similar to my story, always had insurance or didn't need to go. A vet buddy got me to go in 2010 when I had bronchitis, I feel like they are doing a very good job, at least the people I deal with.
