I hear my dog going nuts outside. I grab the the glock 22 I got a great deal from a member on here. Open the door and call the dog in when I see three cops with a dog down the street. Get myself and dog inside pronto. Watching out the windows they just kind of meander around the neighborhood. Their dog was on a 30' leash and was just sniffing random shit out in the open. I moved from the window just long enough to get a drink of water. Next time I look they are guns drawn commanding some ass hat to come out of either a parked truck or from behind a shed across the street. I see when you have a 100lb Doberman/ Rottweiler mix they pic another fuckin yard to hide in. [panic]
I need to go give my girl a cookie...she earned it.

indeed--all you have to do is make your place just that much more unattractive to the scum. lights, dogs, thorny bushes, whatever.

Give that dog a baby carrot! (seriously, my dog loves the peewoddens out of baby carrots)

My dog won't scare anything. BUT she can warn me when dumb crap is about to happen. She barks loudly whenever ANYTHING is happening in my yards, front or back. she has a perch on our couch, and from there she can see all the yards. We keep the blinds open, but we have anti-glare screens over the windows. Essentially, we can see out, but folks can't see in.

It's bad when there's bigger dirtbags in my neighborhood than me. I only have 2 pintos and a couch in the front yard. They have a non working fridge, el camino, 2 john boats and the front seat out of a Chevy luv.

Put the Pintos on cider blocks and you're good. 2 pintos on cinder blocks cancel out the non working fridge and the john boats.

Fair enough.
Maybe cousin Eddie can come stay for a month or two in his RV in your driveway.
You know what they say:
"Why try to keep up with the Jones's? It's much more entertaining to drag them down to your level."

I know what you mean though, we have lived in our place 22+ years and have watched some real winners move in and out.
About 5 years ago I woke up about 4 am to "Show me your f_____ hands." being yelled repeatedly.
PD had been driving by and happened to see two dbags on our driveway, one was actually in my truck. The cop had them proned out in the driveway.

I wish I had a guard dog worth a damn... My pit would play with a gb like he lived here. Probably point out all the good shit to take in the house for a cookie. 75# of vicious licking

My girl earned her keep this week. 11:30 at night she goes off....5 seconds later doorbell rings. I grab the bedside shotgun. Instead of dirtbag, sheriff is standing on my porch. I open the door, still only in my skivvies. Something about looking for lost kids.... Good night. Didn't notice until I was going back to be that said shotgun was still in hands. Wife's reaction " you talked to a cop in your underwear?" Yup. Wonder if he was more concerned about the shotgun or about my skivvies?

This actually reminds me of a few yrs ago.
I was living in Westmister off 72nd and Sheridan.
3amish I woke up thinking I heard the back door shaking. Had my Saint and Swissy, but they were passed out cold. Grabbed the G23 and went to check. Has I reached the back door, the front door started shaking, so I make my way up front. As I pass the kitchen, the motion light on the garage is on. So front door clear, back door rattle again. So I run to it, open, and see a someone going over the fence.........

So I sit guard till 5.

Take a shower and make breakfast, watching the news and they are looking for 2 armed suspects around 72nd that were in a chase that needed in a crash around 2 am........

That's the best part about my dog is how absolutely awful he sounds when he barks. He might not actually protect us in the home (let's hope I never have to find that out), but by the time anyone is nearby, everyone in my place is awake.

By any chance was this chaos happening at the Quebec and Leetsdale area? Only saying because I was giving pitching lessons at a batting cage on Quebec and saw a swarm of cops with lights on driving around then up into the park where apparently they were chasing some guys who held up the liquor store across the street. Apparently there were 4 guys, one armed. They got one guy in the park next to the batting cage and the rest, I assume were apprehended not far away.
