Short version. Dumbass observes someone dumping trash illegally. DA follows them home and engages in confrontation and gunfight breaks out.
Gotta fault all parties here but especially the dude who followed someone home over trash.

Yeah... I have recently changed my philosophy in life. Unless it affects me and mine, I stay out of it. Being a good Samaritan or steward of the Neighborhood usually gets you nothing but trouble now.
However I think that the world would be a much more polite place, when you potentially have to back up your words with your life.

An illegal dump might be worth a cellphone pic including the license plate and an email to the police. It is very true that no good deed goes unpunished though.
Doesn't surprise me. There are some real f'ing trash that live in this neighborhood. Think twice before dumping your trash next time worthless asshole.
Unless it affects me and mine, I stay out of it. Being a good Samaritan or steward of the Neighborhood usually gets you in court now

Idiots! All of them!
1. You are armed and you are going to confront someone for illegally dumping trash:
a. You might get into a physical confrontation that then becomes a gunfight because you are armed; or
b. You might get into a gunfight with the turd because if he draws a gun you are armed and will draw yours.
2. Either of the above makes you an idiot because illegal dumping is not worth shooting someone over, or getting shot over. And you may get charged over it too, then you risk losing your right to even own a firearm. Take pictures, maybe video, become an expert witness, then call the professional law enforcement officers.
This kind of stupid incident just adds fuel to the gun-control arguement.

Sometimes one can just get assaulted or shot at for taking a picture, calling the police etc. Not saying the follower was correct, however there may be more to the story

Get a tag and report it to the property owner. Let the property owner pursue a legal remedy. Confronting people is often considered aggression. Better to be a witness than a police officer.

That neighborhood has about 1-2 shootings a year. My daughter does summer school over there and spent most of her life before kindergarten over there as well. I have had street urchins flash gang signs and "hand" guns like they were shooting at me while driving over there.
For the most part it is okay, and from what I understand, "recovering," but there are for sure shit bags living here.
The world would be a cleaner place if,,,
Testosterone and stupidity is a bad combination. Add firearms and you get situations like this. Really? You're gonna pursue, follow, and confront some asshole over trash dumping that didn't even occur on your property? Someone just got a failing score on the IQ test.
No charges filed.

I live in Thornton, but there are lots of weirdos at Northglenn and South Thornton area. I've been cussed, yelled and threatened few times.
This guy wanted to kick my ass and cussing in front of his own grandchildren. I just took his photograph and his license plate.

That's the post office on Washington just south of 120th. Did you explain that you were just taking his photo for the "People Can't Park" thread?

That was the exact location of the spot. This happened about 1.5 years ago.
After posting this on FB, someone told me that he dines in at one of franchise chain restaurant at 120th (Westminster side). Yeah, he is confirmed @sshole from others at restaurant.
eta; took photo after he cussed me out.
Both of them were just asking for what happened. This is what happens when two bad situations meet.

I am looking around like a hungry hawk to find photos for "people can't park" and upbranding poser (such as fake AMG, M, S, RS, etc) thread for other forum I am active in.
However, I do it discreetly. (far away as possible) :)
Oh, another one that I love to take photos are "Tesla S" on the street. I admit that I can be obsessed. [LOL]
Going back to the topic.
If I had a time to follow them like Trash Vigilante, I would rather capture what that guy was doing on a video, and submit it to state/county waste management.

Depends on year, cond, miles, not too much price difference.
Oh yeah, heavy modded one (not SS) was expensive.

I hate trash dumpers and they deserve the worst that could happen to them, up to and including being shot by a conscientious citizen.
When someone dumps a load of stinking trash in your yard, how would you react?
