I recently inheirited a, I believe, Beretta model 71 22 lr. It has an alloy frame, grip safety, fixed rear sight, front sight is part of the barrel, the markings of XXIII suggest it was manufacutered in 1967, however there is no model number on it. The grips do not say Jaguar and are just plain Jane plastic Beretta grips.
The serial number is F196XX. The frame and the slide have the same last four digits numbers.
So my questions are:
What model is it?
I know model 71 mags are hard to find, except the Triple K. Are Triple K mags any good for this model?
Do model 76 mags work in it?
And anything else you can tell me.
It was my dad's carry gun, and I would like to be able to shoot it. The magazine in it was lost in the accident, and we couldn't another one at the house.
