On saturday afternoon a blacked out Blackhawk chopper flew about 75 feet off the ground and circled my house for about 5 minutes. the thing was so close it was surreal. My neighbors and I all came out to look, it was so low and circling so tight over my house my neighbors were asking "what did you do?" only somewhat jokingly. Now please spare me the tin foil hat comments and other such nonsense, I am genuinely curious whether anyone else has experienced this kind of thing as it was a bit unsettling.
So, what did you do? Jk. But seriously, what did you do!

LOL other than posting here and on FB anti-liberal and pro-patriot stuff? not a thing. I mean honestly It could be nothing but an exercise of some sort but it's unsettling to be sure.

Blackhawks don't have an AN/AVR-2 system on them, only Kiowa Warriors and Apaches do. All Army helos have an APR-39 system though.

They said they were conducting surveillance on me due my association with some guy named Jay they are very interested in. [facepalm]

No, it was just you they were interested in.

Just a felony to do that... But hey they were already looking for you.

I used to live by Buckley as well, off of Jewel, saw my favorite all time aircraft an A10 a few times. But this is in Castle Rock, don't get alot of military aircraft around here and damn sure not 75ft off the ground. Again not saying they were "looking" for me or anything as I am just not that important ,just strange and wondering if it had happened to anyone else.

They were probably coming by to confiscate your unregistered assault magazines.

I'd love to see the chopper video of when a bunch of guys went out to see what's happening all mooned the chopper at once.
I heard them make several passes around my house but they did stop to take a look. A couple of weeks ago they were circling the high school/middle school here in town.

I had some blackhawks fly over my house in Littleton this past weekend. Apparently they were training for forest fire water drops at Chatfield. I do worry about the drones that fly over my house on a regular basis.
As hokey as it sounds, I've heard of helicopters coming to investigate changes in the earth's magnetic field due to crystals before... do you or others at your home have rare earth crystals in any kind of alignment or circle?

I'm going to assume you're speaking about the countermeasures on the UH-60? That was not fun to mess with in Afghanistan, when some dipshit Czech pointed a laser at an inbound 60 while we were building the firing range right next to the HLZ... we got 4 flares fired within 20feet of where we were standing. Talk about getting a pucker factor of 9 going!
Had one fly really low over my house once, but then they landed in the ball field of the elementary school across the street. It was some kind of show'n'tell for the kiddies, they were squealing like maniacs.

They go by sometimes. I took this pic from Echo Ridge

Just a pilot checking to see if there were any strange cars parked in front of his house while he was gone.
Yeah, CO Guard units are still using the alpha models which don't have the integrated vehicle management system. Or at least they were as of last year when I last got a close up look at their birds. When I was crewing in Afghanistan we still all had alphas as I believe the mikes didn't come out until 2006 or 2007. Basically the change was because the IVMS allowed the addition of better weapons control and better power control for the pilots and extra counter measures like the AN/AVR-2 which is the laser warning system. The APR-39 is the radar warning.

I had a couple blackhawks circle for a while and then follow our couple rigs up the last little section of Mt Baldy last summer. Guessing they were out doing some S&R training.

It's the black silent ones you need to be worrying about.
Have any daughters sun bathing in the backyard as this was going on?
sent from a soup can and some string..

The in-laws had them circle over their house near the south site regularly a couple summer's ago. Typically at night and at VERY low elevation. We all figured it was training of some sort.

Coolest one I got to watch so far was out east of buckley....I was working a solo night job with only the coyotes and rabbits to keep me company when i heard a woop woop woop. Trio of choppers flew by doing night ops, silencers on, only the point man had his red tail light on otherwise dark.......and flying low and fast. I know it was training (well, I think), but gotta have some balls to fly that fast and trust he guy in front not to sneeze or anything. Wasn't pitch black yet but still dark enough to barely silhouette.

Coolest thing ever to see is rotor blades creating a static discharge with dirt/sand particles when spinning (known as the corona effect)... Saw it a lot in Afghanistan:

Corona is a beer dude... Called the Kopp-Etchells effect. The phenomenon has no name. Reporter & former SF Michael Yon decided to name it the Kopp-Etchells Effect, as a tribute, after Ranger Benjamin Kopp and Corporal Joseph Etchells, who died in Afg.
That's awesome. :) We used to live right across the street from Buckley (off Dunkirk) and I absolutely loved watching and listening to the many aircraft that took off on the runway. There's nothing like the sound of freedom!

A couple of times when we were riding dirt bikes out near the tortoise preserve near California City we were circled by low flying F4 Phantom II's. They were so low we could see them working the controls in the cockpit. And man, F4's are really loud when they blast away on full afterburner.
You just happened to be the owner of the house the pilot was screwing with, right before they came creepin up, the pilot probably started a conversation with his co like this: "Man I'm bored... hey, lets have a little fun...."
It had to be somebody. Just be glad it was you, and you could share this with all of us!

I've heard it called the Corona Effect... potato, patahto.
Both correct.
Nice pics included below.
