It says they shot the victim in the leg, and the other victim to death. but we ASSumed he was the bad guy

"Hey look that guy is being stabbed we should help him. He is running too fast lets shoot him in the leg to slow him down"

typo in title

but I doubt the dead guy cares whether he was shot by the PD or the SO.

An aspiring TV producer, who had worked for Comedy Central’s viral video-based series “Tosh.0,” was accidentally killed on Monday night when Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies mistook him for a mad slasher, FOX411 has learned.
The officer drew, aimed and fired at Winkler. Guess I'm missing where the "accidental" part is.

Note to self, before going on a slashing spree call the local PD and tell them you are going to be filming a short movie.

i think what the article says is a bad guy got into the apartment and was stabbing or attempting to stab everyone. The two victims fled. Police figured there must only be one victim and the other guy is obviously in need of killing. Except that wasnt the case. So according to the article two innocent guys were shot (one to death) and the bad guy didnt get shot.

I would think https://www.ar-15.co/threads/129777-Wonder-if-Ridge-has-some-of-these is more at risk of being locked. This could turn into a nice cop bashing thread so to be safe you better tag em both.

I seen that one, and figured it had a high chance of a "Lock down"! Just couldn't bring my self to even be part of that thread!

I did not click on the link in it but after hearing what it was about..... If I had clicked on it and my granddaughter had been here like she is on many weekends someone would have got a time out. Last time I checked we were still a family site.

That must be what they teach LEO in Cali: if you don't know who's who or WTF is happening, shoot everyone. I feel better knowing they'll all get paid vacation for it while a thorough investigation is conducted.

Me too. But you know Ridge bought one before the lock [ROFL3]

ANYWAY....in regard to our current topic. It's Los Angeles, Commifornia - what else do you expect? I sort of see the LAPD & LASO having firearms training sort of like this:

That's what they did when Dorner lost his bearings. LAPD couldn't tell the difference b/t a 71yo woman and Dorner.

Maybe LASO thought the vic was a dog.

I got my POST certification in California just over 20 years ago. I think they frowned on this sort of thing back then. California rolled out POST standards long before most other places.

I need to get a 357 magnum 50 caliber. I love Reno 911. Thanks for the laugh.

The deputies, all department veterans, were removed from patrol after the shooting but were expected to return to full duty next week, sheriff's officials said.

I'm glad they learned something....
