So, I am thinking of upgrading my TLR-1. However, it is hard to find parts for the damn thing. I don't mean the switches, or the different rail options stuff, I mean new bulb and lamp assemblies. I can find a "large hole" bezel assembly, but nothing else that has to do with the head. I want to make it brighter, turn it into the HL basically. Does anyone know where lamp parts are for these?

I have just considered buying an HL and calling it done, but if I go that route, I had seen another light.... Has anyone here used an Inforce APL?

I am partial to Streamlight products. I love my TLR-1s 300 lumen. I also have other flashlights from them and quality has been top notch. I checked out the APL and it does look like it's a solid system and probably wouldn't be a bad choice either. Their WML looks interesting as well. I wish they were a bit brighter than 200 lumens.

My question would be, by swapping bulbs and changing parts are you compromising reliability? That would be my biggest concern. Also are really saving that much or spending a few more bucks for the HL version?

Have you checked out cree or terralux for a compatible led conversion? I'd also back Streamlight since we own a few of their lights and they are top tier, but I will add that I bought an led quick detach pistol light made by ncstar or norinco or some other chicom clone brand and I must have lucked out and got a good one................battery life on one cr123 is pretty good, hasn't corroded or excessively drained batteries stored live, is bright enought to blind someone, and it hasn't blown out or come loose through quite a few rounds of 9mm (yes, i even shot it with the light on in the pitch black........at a hill.......in a place where if there were people in earshot, they probably didn't care).

(afterthought....whats the bulb for those? I just did a terralux conversion on my strion and if the bulbs are the same you can have both of mine I have no intention of going back to the xenon bulbs)

Well, here's the deal... I got a Gamespotter because I wanted a TLR-1, and my friend has a TLR-2 G, and wanted the green light for it. We were going to trade my green for his white, and then I thought about just upgrading the bulb to something brighter. Well... Streamlight made it difficult.... The LED part is soldered into place on my Gamespotter... this is going to be harder than I though... I also can't find any replacements for the damn thing, so I think I'm just dismantling this and his, and when I'm done with his green/green combo, I'm just going to buy the APL and have parts left.......
