View Full Version : Suppressor Only club shoot
Years ago I went to a shoot with alot of you guys that was suppressors ONLY.
I had a lot of fun, but most of all, I gained TONS of information.
I remember MP5Engineer organized most of it, but he moved to Seattle.
What do you guys say, let try and pick a day and location (last time it was up near woodland park) where alot of us can go shooting with out having to wear ear muffs!

I had a good time, however I don't have weekends off for the time being or I would do it again.
No reason why you and other members can't have one all I ask is post pics to make the rest of us jealous.;)
I still have the video you made of the last shoot. I need to get a hold of Ken he said seattle was only for a short time. Last I heard he still had his house here in CO and planned on moving back.

Does it really take 4 months to register a suppressor? Christ
What are peoples schedules on Sat 27 Jun? Lets get some feed back if you can make that.
Also a range officer. Any one willing to do this? I'm not experienced enough to pull this off, plus I want to shoot.
And a location? should we used the north or south shoot? I guess post what is more convenient?
Can any one think of anything else we need to address now?
I can brings some hotdogs and burgers so we can cook out again.
Hunter, that is a shame you can not make it. Are their any exceptions?
Willyswagon, what did you get?
RYAN50BMG - very nice m42000. My spr/m4 just got to Rich stone, now I got to start the paperwork to me.
jackmode9316 - the wait time all depends on the ATF. They have moved buildings, been flooded, being under-staffed or over-staffed. I have seen wait times take less then a month, and some take over 8 months.
My last one I did about 3 months ago took about 2 months.
But they JUST changed some rules this month (one big thing was that you have to send in your whole trust, not just the cover page and schedule A) It even depends on which examiner you get at the ATF.
Here is a post that shows how long things are taking:
http://www.silencertalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8758&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=900
So I don't know if some of the other rules will slow things down.

Whats all this about a trust? Isn't that just an alternate means to get one?
So we can keep this thread on topic, go to this thread to learn more about a trust.
http://www.co-ar15.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8091
It has some good info.
But basically an individual, or a trust, or a corporation can own NFA items (machine guns, suppressors)
Trusts/corp have the benefit of not having your local sheriff sign off. There are no finger prints required. And more then one person could posses the items.
My first can went to me as an individual, but once I found out about the trust I never looked back, I will ALWAYS have an NFA item on a trust/corp.

I,m down for June 27. Let's do the south site.I think more can owners are down this way. I will bring a pop-up and tables to put guns on. I have six gun/can guns I will bring.
Here was the video for 2006's CO suppressor shoot:

It was a good time.
If we do choose the south site, here is a link to it:
http://maps.google.com/maps?sourceid=chrome&q=N39+08.603+W105+07.697&ie=UTF8&hl=en&safe=on&t=h&z=16&iwloc=A
Or google maps this: N39 08.603 W105 07.697
And here is where people meet up to go to the site:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=mcdonalds&sll=38.982831,-105.045004&sspn=0.02592,0.038624&safe=on&ie=UTF8&ll=38.990299,-105.047434&spn=0.00324,0.004828&t=h&z=18
The corner of HWY 24 and S Baldwin st is a McDonalds, and we meet in the parking lot behind it.
Or you can google maps this: N38 59.434 W105 02.850

Got a hold of a pop up canopy.
One more month till the shoot. Is Jun 27th still open for you guys?
Gonna borrow a gas grill so we can have some hotdogs and hamburgers.
Bummer, June 27th is bad for me. I'm working brewfest in Ft Collins. [Rant1]
Guess I'll have to find another time to play.

I won't be able to make it. Overtaken by events.
OK, then is anyone else going to make it?
How many people were dead set on this date?
If not to many people, then we should reschedule it. How about we coinside it with the 11 july club shoot. What location will that be at?

I won't be able to attend till my Form 4 comes back.
With all of the rainfall that we've had so far and the saturated soil....my drooling would just make things worse.
I can only make it on a tuesday through thursday other than that it would be a no go for me.

The club shoots are at both South and North spots every month.
So there really is no excuse anybody can use for not being somewhere!

I have 26rds of subsonic .223 free to who ever wants it for the club shoot. 3 caveats:
1) These are reloads, straight off of the hodgon site. So if you blow yourself up, its on you. Seriously tho, they're only 7gr of powder, so long as you verify that no rounds get stuck in the barrel you should be gtg.
2) Share them with other COAR15 shooters.
3) You gotta come get them in Aurora. I aint driving em around and I'm sure not gonna ship them.
LMK.
