So I click on the online edition of the DP and lo and behold there are 4 ads for this new organization started by....you guessed it....Bloomberg! This guy is going to spend another $50 million bucks, not helping the poor, not helping homeless people, but for yet another anti-gun campaign. Im really starting to hate that guy.

NY Times article: Bloomberg Plans a $50 Million Challenge to the N.R.A.

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/16/us/bloomberg-plans-a-50-million-challenge-to-the-nra.html?hp

Apparently, he has an express ticket past the pearly gates.

"But if he senses that he may not have as much time left as he would like, he has little doubt about what would await him at a Judgment Day. Pointing to his work on gun safety, obesity and smoking cessation, he said with a grin: “I am telling you if there is a God, when I get to heaven I’m not stopping to be interviewed. I am heading straight in. I have earned my place in heaven. It’s not even close.”

I pray when Bloomberg gets to heaven's gate, he is sent south for his personal attacks on the freedom of the masses. Why would you think you have a free pass to heaven when you have made it a personal vendetta to take away the ability of the weak to protect themselves? Why when you have made an all out assault on the Bill of Rights? Why when you dictate what people can eat? I hope he dies a slow painful death very soon.

Because "Women, and mothers in particular, will be the focus of the organizing and outreach"" ... to expand background checks, keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers, crack down on gun trafficking and educate parents about the safe storage of guns." Women, and mothers in particular with no experience with guns, who don't own guns, who likely have never fired a gun, are the right people to crack down on gun trafficking and know all about safe storage of guns.

Buying his way into heaven. What a demented twat of a man.

I'm not usually prone to quoting Scripture here, but since Bloomburg brought up the whole thing I'll leave this:

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

"for it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast."

Yeah, Bloomburg better not hold his breath on the whole free pass thing with his questionable faith.

No, you've got it all wrong. THEY are the ones taking away the guns with an army of yes-men to do the dirty work for them. It's not their own people - Their people are far above the rest of us.

I didn't particularly like him before but now...well. Anyway, I thought the NRA was a big advocate of gun safety yet Bloomberg acts like they're not. How about donating $50 million to the Eddie the Eagle safety program?? I wish someone would explain how women with no experience at all with firearms are the people to crack down on gun trafficking and safe storage? I wonder if a detailed rundown of Fast and Furious is part of the curriculum on gun trafficking and how it can affect a lot of people.

Nah, SCOTUS gave all of us a big leg up in trying to fight an even battle against the OFA/Soros crowd. I hope Bloomberg's $50M is proportionately just as effective as the money he gave to Morse & Giron's defense. Wouldn't it be nice to get rid of another 30+ regressive Stalinist legislators?

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not ban guns and spend oodles of American dollars in Your name, and in Your name cast out non-micro-stamping rifles and people who would throw shoes at Hillary, and in Your name perform many unethical and Constitutionally defunct new laws?' 23 "And then I will declare to them, 'Even though you didn't even claim to believe in me by questioning if I even exist in your press conference, don't think that will keep you from the good life. Sure, come on in and put your feet up. 24 Can I get you a Starbucks? If so, just call out "God, God!" and I'll come running to serve you for eternity, amazing rich and important creation!"

What? Oh, you probably don't have the King Michael Edition.

Doesn't look like everyone is on board with his Hubris.
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/why-bloomberg-nanny-campaign-backfire-091500861.html

Chris Cillizza at The Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/wp/2014/04/16/why-mike-bloomberg-shouldnt-be-the-face-of-his-new-gun-control-push/) thinks so as well. “It seems quite clear from those quotes,” Cillizza wrote, “that Bloomberg doesn't fully grasp how he is viewed by many people outside of major cities and the Northeast.”

Making himself the front man for this effort, given his track record of hubris, all but guarantees Bloomberg’s failure. “People don't like others telling them how to handle their business,” Cillizza concludes, “especially if that person is a billionaire New York City resident who wants to regulate things like sugar in soda.”

‘Everytown’ project blowing up in Bloomberg’s face (http://www.examiner.com/article/everytown-project-blowing-up-bloomberg-s-face)

Yesterday there was one and today there are scores of Facebook pages dubbed “Everytown for Gun Safety” for several states and even local communities; the work of gun rights activists waging guerrilla warfare against billionaire Michael Bloomberg’s $50 million launch yesterday of a new gun control lobbying effort with the same name.

All of the Facebook pages have one thing in common. They all promote gun safety, including links to such things as the National Rifle Association’s “Eddie Eagle” program and the three key gun safety golden rules: Always keep guns pointed in a safe direction, always keep guns unloaded until ready to use, and always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire.

The launch of so many Facebook pages in the wake of Bloomberg’s appearance yesterday on NBC’s Today show with Shannon Watts of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America (MDA), a group he funded underscores the ferocity of Second Amendment activists. Bloomberg’s new “Everytown for Gun Safety” organization consolidates MDA with Mayors Against Illegal Guns, another anti-gun organization funded by the former New York mayor.

But in the process of setting it all up, disguised as a “grass roots” effort, somebody in Bloomberg’s camp evidently forgot Facebook. That left the door open yesterday for activists to quickly register the name “Everytown for Gun Safety” (EGS) on Facebook, and launch a bushel of them over the past several hours as pro-gun sites that are now drawing viral attention and no small amount of laughter from the gun rights community.

At last count, there were individual Facebook pages for EGS chapters in Illinois, Idaho, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and South Carolina, and those are just examples. A quick glance also shows separate pages for EGS chapters in Washington, Texas, California, Florida and most other states as well. The Washington page has a red silhouette of the state with the message "No on 594," a reference to Initiative 594, the 18-page gun control measure.

Many of those states are among the ones Bloomberg’s $50 million so-called “grass roots” effort is targeting this year, according to yesterday’s New York Times. That story identified Washington, Colorado, Texas, Montana and Indiana among 15 states where he will put the “Everytown” financial emphasis.

While NBC’s story about Bloomberg’s new campaign insisted he “isn’t trying to outspend the NRA,” the New York Times piece specifically noted that the NRA “has spent only $20 million annually on political activities.” The former mayor insisted in his NBC interview that “This is not a battle of dollars, it’s a battle for the hearts and minds of America, so that we can protect our children, protect innocent people.”

Second Amendment activists look at it from a different perspective. This is a battle to protect the constitutional rights of the next generation from people like Bloomberg who think their deep pockets somehow entitle them to buy elections and force their philosophy on the entire nation.

I watched that video too for the sake of knowing your enemy, and I think you really hit the nail on the head here. I hope no kids see that and think you can handle a firearm like that. Hell, there are probably adults that think that is acceptable. Kind of scary when you show something dangerous like that and don't explain the consequences other than fading the video to black.
