View Full Version : Vacuum packing Ammo for travel and storage.
Has anyone done this? Is it safe? Or will it cause damage. Was thinking of not making it totally airtight but pretty close.
Keeping some of it at a cabin in the mountains, some in an RV.
As long as it's clean and dry before you seal it.. But for the most part, one of those plastic ammo boxes inside a ziplock, with all the air out of it will acheive the same effect.. Cheaper too, unless You already have the vacuum device...
For the most part the cartridge is already "sealed"so, unless You are planning on swimming a river with it, the above is just overkill...
Thanks, have had the vacuum sealer, just wanted to make sure it wouldnt damage the ammo.

Altitude changes....
I know my military ammo cans get real damn tight when I brought them back from MD recently. I would skip the vaccuum sealing and just store them in metal ammo cans with good seals.
