Rejection

Just got a courtesy copy of a letter the ATF sent to my FFL regarding the rejection of two of my forms for silencers. Apparently, my transferor forgot to sign a box on all the form copies. On the minus side, I'll have to pester them to send in corrected copies of the forms, and probably wait another 30 days for approval. On the plus side, approval is near at hand. 9 months and counting.

Actually, it only slows the process about a week, if the FFL SOT turns the forms around quickly. You still hold your place in line, and you should have approved Forms in about 14 days.

Much though I may not particularly like the concept of the BATFE, it is still employed with people, and people can turn out to be pretty cool. I threw in a couple 5320s with my returns for an absolute last-minute travel plan. Didn't think I'd get them back in time. Called and spoke to one of the customer service people, had a pleasant chat. She said she'd find my 5320s and put them on the examiner's desk. Today, I not only got my 5320s, I also got all my stamps back for some SBRs that have been in the pipe for the last eight months. Nice to see someone willing to put forth a little extra effort to accommodate a last-minute request.

Don't know what stock I am going to put on the 9mm yet, but here are my newest toys:

I got a Sig 551 i bought with a Tac brace with the intention of SBR'ing. It's cool for what it is but it aint the same as a buttstock! F1 was filed within a couple hours of buying it!
