View Full Version : What laws are OK to break today?

I see you can smoke weed in public today. MJ may be legal but I recall seeing that it specifically is illegal in public places and also still illegal on a federal level. Wonder if the Cow Patty Police in Nevada will drop by Denver to enforce some federal drug laws during the weed rally?

Personally, I would like to speed, like well over 100 on I25 in a clear area... I think that would be fun.

Maybe sell some 17 round magazines to some stoners tomorrow... Or just sell the whole gun and not do a BGC. Will anyone care?

Another thought, with all the security tomorrow, how much is this rally costing the tax payer? Seems odd that they are not even trying to generate revenue through citations for public MJ consumption and they have already stated they will just be there monitoring the event.

Too me it seems like they are Guarding the people breaking the law.

Seems a little backwards to me.

9 news just did a piece about the citations they've already written for public toking. Showed the DPD camera monitoring H Q they have for tomorrows event.... yeah lots of tax payer money in on the deal, but lots of tax revenue on the product as well.

I dunno....I just hope no one gets shot this year.

The thing I don't get is why the feds are so hell bent on enforcing a law about a cow shitting on some BLM land in the middle of nowhere, but then thousands of people break federal drug laws at a scheduled date and time, and the feds are no where to be seen.

Because pot-smokers are harmless. Independent ranchers who refuse to recognize the authority of an illegitimate gov agency post a real threat to the Feds.

also, IBTL.

Feel free to come across our borders. Those were only important until about a hundred years ago. We have lots of free incentives for you and your family. Just punch (D) next to the names before you submit and we will take good care of you.

Should of planned a large gun/mag swap meet at the 420 rally. There would be a large group of stoned buyers (suckers) and since laws won't be enforced.....yea, probably not.

Because pot-smokers are harmless.

I don't know... I saw some story on the news about a guy who was all hopped up on pot and killed his wife. Reefer madness you know.

Plus, could just be coincidence, but I've noticed a recent trend of vehicles being driven on public roads well below the posted speed limits. Talk about f**king up traffic when everyone is trying to drive 80 between here and Fort Collins and some dude in his early to mid twenties in a piece of shit honda civic is going like 55 mph.

‹Oh, and am I the only one who thought today was Easter and had no idea it was "pot day"?

Oh, and as far as which law I would like to get to break and get away with, I'd love to punch a hippy in the throat and not have any consequences for my action.

(although, the driving 100 plus miles per hour without getting a ticket would be pretty sweet too. You know, if they won't let me punch hippies.)

Yep, I see this too and they are either stoned or from Wyoming, hard to tell the difference unless you can see the plate.

What the smokers do not realize (now) is the same incremental laws the .gov has been doing to gun owners, is already happening to the 4/20 crowd.
Edibles are OK, well maybe not since there was 1 confirmed (balcony fly over) and one "ALLEGED" , the 13 min 911 response. The DP is running a poll asking abut banning edibles / hi cap mags. Parallels are there, unfortunately getting the 4/20 crowd to see what happened to us is happening to them, is unlikely.

What? Come on... the government would never infringe like that. [LOL]

What about setting up a concessions stand without a permit? Go buy out all the Doritos at SAMs and Costco, and sell them at the rally. I mean if your going to do it you might as well make some money. They should be worth aprox the asme as 22lr right?

The government wants the citizenry to be too intoxicated to notice the barbed wire being strung around them.

Praise Allah, they would not.

what was that one comment regarding the BLM deal. Amazing the .gov would put a fence around American Citizens, yet do nothing about the border

All of them.

When the government picks which laws to enforce and on whom then no law is valid except the laws in your heart.

Y'know, next year we should all pick up the Airsoft equivalent of 30 round mags and invade the toke-fest handing off the toys under the cameras. Let 'em bitch over some kids' toys ...

Hasn't this protest being happening on this day for decades now? If you want to break the law in the form of protest, do it. You've got 365 days to choose from. Pick a day and quit whining.

^^^^This!
Weed sales are estimated to bring in +40 million dollars in tax revenue, higher than originally planned. Typically Washington politics, if it benefits you than look the other way.

I estimate every 7-11 within 2mi of Civic Center will be pretty busy today. Thursday might have been a good day to buy stock in Frito-Lay.

I am sure that I broke some law last week, but I don't which one and it was not intentional.

The realities turned out to be less than half of what some hoped they would be.

Colorado tax revenue on recreational marijuana down (http://khon2.com/2014/04/09/colorado-tax-revenue-on-recreational-marijuana-down/)

In Colorado, not as many people are buying recreational pot as predicted.

And that means the high tax revenues state lawmakers thought would be rolling in are not.

With seemingly everyone wanting a cut of Colorado’s pot taxes, for the first time, the joint budget committee took up the debate over how to dole the dollars out. And new numbers show sales aren’t quite the what the state expected.

Not only are sales lower than projected, so too are the number of businesses approved to sell it.

The state expected to approve one-hundred-ten businesses the first month.

Only about half that number, 59, were approved as of February 1.

“They missed the mark and so the volatility unpredictability of this revenue stream is why I think responsible prudent thing to do is spend these moneys in rears looking at last year’s actual collection,” Pat Steadman, (D) Co. General Assembly said.

Meaning they won’t spend money they don’t have yet, except this year.

The budget committee will create a mini-budget for the tax dollars collected in the first six months – an estimated 20-million dollars.

Far below the 54-million the governor budgeted for.

Like the governor, the committee plans to put much of the money toward prevention programs to protect kids.

But, the legislature will have the final say.

“If there’s going to be amendments, feeding frenzies, shopping sprees, and lots of lobbying that goes on around this so be it,” Steadman said.

So with all the open toking, the Denver Police arrested ... 22 people yesterday. Sounds to me like they just chose a small minority so they could say they arrested some people. Tell me again how much money Denver made off the "rally"? Our society has gone total 'tard.

when the .gov continually breaks laws at it's leisure is it any surprise when people follow suit?

Went downtown today to enjoy the the nice weather. Avoided City Park, but walked around Cheesman Park. Didn't go near Civic Center but there were a ton of people at the Merchandise Mart for something cannibis related.

This thing with enforcing only the laws that suit them at random times needs to stop. I think the rule of law is starting to go the way of 1 dollar gas. I saw the Merch Mart was doing a Pot fest. Thought it was funny, in a few weeks it will be full of gun lovers. One group has gained tons in the way of freedom, the other group constantly being squeezed and under the microscope. Funny turn of events.

Are you going to cheer when there is a sting that busts a firearm transfer with no back ground check?

Or when lawmakers ignore the boundaries set on which laws they can make.
