I like it! However, I cannot use it. My neighbors include a cop, a preacher, a fellow hunter, some older retired dude(him and his wife go to the range a lot) and a single mom.(pistol packing momma) I'm not sure if the guy behind me has any guns but he shoots his bow on a regular basis. I know they all are armed to the teeth. Wrong neighborhood for the bad guys!!
It's cool when you lived in the same place for years and you know everyone pretty good.

Where I live there are 3 Home Land Security officers. They drive the department vehicles home. I think this is a big deterrent to any would be criminals, but in this day and age with the current Commander and Chief I'm more likely to keep my eye on them. Heh. [Mad]
I could use them for a couple neighbors
cool sign,, we ain't got but 1 nieghbor, Nam Vet, retired FBI, currently a fed cop. sometimes wears a shoulder holster in the yard during summer when we have city slickers riding their dirt bikes atv's down our road. he politely shows them where the Nat Forest is.
I just wear mine occasionally.

Cool sign, I live on a short, dead end road, but there are two houses I could use it for, the rest of us hang out and play with our guns, as our back yards back up to National Forrest.

not many would see the sign where I live... nearest neighbor is 1/4 mile away- and he's a corrections officer (state facility)
if the "private road" signs just off the highway don't deter them, then perhaps the .45 cal holes in the sign will make them think, or the "no trespassing" signs at my driveway..
then the dogs generally let us know at 1/2 mile out that someone's coming...
Someone in Penrose has this sign:

works better in my environment... I also have something similar to this, left by the previous owner of my property:

That's awesome!! [Ban3]
When I see bullet holes in signs, it just lets me know that drunk teenagers with .22's are driving around at night.

the holes in the private road sign were made by some unknown individual driving "a beat-up full-size car" in the middle of the night... confirmed .45ACP by the shell casings found... someone was camping within 100yrds of where the sign was shot at the time..
no, I don't think it's a deterrent- but if they weren't already thinking this a place where they >could< be shot for trespassing, it confirms it for them.. [LOL]
My little brother shot some street signs I had left over from high school with his Savage Mark II and the holes in the signs are large enough that you can put an unfired .45 round through it without touching the sides. It's pretty impressive.

I've always wanted to get one of those signs (the one that this thread started with), but I'm afraid that if that neighbor did get robbed (or worse), I'd be sued for some liability for it.

I'm not a lawyer, but there is NO way a lawsuit against you would be successful. I had to use the spell checker for successful though, so don't listen to me.

While that would be one of the worst things that could happen. I have heard of people being sued by robbers hurting themselves and sueing the victims. The best way to avoid something like that is hope they forfeit their lives somehow because a dead man can't sue.

I tell my wife to empty the magazine if she ever has to shoot a home intruder. This way (officially) she doesn't have to worry about the perp getting back up and hurting her. What I don't say is that we won't have to worry about this person rolling into court in a wheelchair and seeking sympathy while he attempts to sue me to the poorhouse.
I hope my wife doesn't panic and shoots for the head. But if she kills them at least make sure its on the lawn. That way I don't have to worry about sueing the estate for the blood stains on the carpet.
And what makes the grass grow? BLOOD BLOOD BLOOD.
But here's hoping against hope. Chances are she'll get midevil on his ass and I'll be the one puking and needing therapy when I see the mess. I don't fear for her safety as much as worry about anyone that comes to my house looking for trouble.

It might be because I've had a drink or two (more like 6), but The Ginsue and Doc seem drunk as well.
