I walked in to Castle Arms on Tuesday to pick up a lower I had shipped there, and walked in as Arapahoe County and Aurora Police were conducting an arrest on the owner. The counter help was able to facilitate my Background check and complete the transaction after a short wait.
I was curious as to why Gordon (the owner) was being arrested,.
Well while watching the channel 7 5pm news, now I know. Looks like that Castle Arms may be closing.

If I would have known this about him, his shop would not have gotten any of my business.
It was nice having a gun shop so close for transactions.

I'm glad they got the guy and every guy they get ....

BUT

The investigator who responded to the ad on April 16 identified herself as being "almost fourteen."

This and like the " to catch a predator" show series.... always felt a litte "entrapmenty" to me.

Again I'm glad they get these sick fucks but still I'm surprised that the courts have never thrown this stuff out. ( at least never that I've heard of )

Yes I know the definition of entrapment and yes I know exactly why these don't fit it .. but still feels a bit like it ...

And commence the flaming me.

No amount of entrapment would convince a normal person to lure a child. This guy is sick and I have zero problems with the police using the methods they do to find potential sickos like him.

Dante's Inferno always seemed like the worst kind of hell to me. The 9th and inner circle is reserved for the worst and they are either frozen for eternity in terrible contorted positions or the very very worst actually serve as satan's chew toys for all of eternity. People like Judas who has to suffer through satan chewing on his head forever. People that pray on kids may not get the same punishment as Judas but they're damn close and deserve to suffer being frozen in the worst pain imaginable for the rest of time.

No flame, but if you saw the number of lines they have the perp cross before hooking them up, you would know they were not just casually interested in a little strange. Some suspects will nibble the bait for a long time and others will hit it and and take it as fast as you will let them. Fishing. These types of stings are like fishing in a fully stocked barrel. You catch different people with different bait. Don't take the bait unless you want to feel the hook.

Toddler now........ And the key word is -Had- a wife, pretty sure most women wouldn't stick around after charges like that.

You would be surprised Bob...the BIL had a friend from high school that he was pretty tight with, married to a gorgeous little blonde gal. He got popped on an interwebz kiddi sting when he showed up to meet what he thought was a 13 yo girl with the intent of bumping uglies with her.
Turned out the 13 yo was a Jeffco Sheriff decoy.
3 felony charges and she stayed with him.

WTF is going on with Aurora? I used to go to Sub Stop all the time when John Snorsky worked there because I work right around there. Find out he was that guy who tried to snatch that girl from her bedroom window for 'hugs'.

I have a customer that runs a sex offender monitoring service. His "clients" are as he says "non- rehabilitation capable individuals".
My first post in this thread nails it.
"Faulty Wiring"
These "people" have a mental illness that is untreatable. Sexual desire is one of the strongest psychological drives. Once a particular craving of that psyche is attained the desire to reach it again becomes all consuming, similar to addiction but far stronger.
There is no undoing it.

This is exactly why people do NOT want any convicted/registered sex offenders moving into their respective neighborhoods. Damn sad situations since the offenders have served their sentence but apparently the urge never leaves them.

The news just ran a segment about these scum getting out of jail and going right back to what they were doing to get in trouble.

I agree non- rehabilitation capable individuals. They should just be euthanized.

Actually some chemical castration will do wonders to subdue their sexual urges - as long as they continue to get their shots. Of course that can be extremely expensive and who is going to pay for those injections.

Bring 'em to my place. I'll use my own bullet, won't cost the state nothin'. Child molesters, once convicted, should never see the light of day again, one way or another, same for rapists.

Actually you are correct. Until he is convicted, this is just accusation. If we do not afford him the FULL ability to defend himself openly and honestly, the Constitution means nothing. Each and ever one of use could be put in his shoes and falsely accused to further other agendas. I am not saying that is what is happening here but I will not condemn a person until proven guilty. If he is convicted by a jury of his peers.... There is a special ring in hell waiting for him (but not until the convicts get first crack, I understand they take this one personal)

He is absolutely entitled to the presumption of innocence in a court of law but I happen to know a little bit about just how much rope the cops give guys like this before they go in for the arrest. I'm sorry for the guy's family but that's as far as it goes. There's no way I believe there's any reasonable doubt about his guilt.

Without knowing a thing about this specific case, I will guess there are many pages of text msgs, emails, explicit photographs and numerous instances where the decoy advised the perp of her age. These cases rarely go to trial and a fair number of them result in suicide attempts. As a citizen, he will be given full due process. I'm not a betting man, however, I would not wager on his innocence. The only cases that are more perfunctory than these are DUI arrests. Once the BAC comes back from the lab, a defendant is working for the best sentence possible. These are high percentage wins for most prosecutors.
