So I found out the hard way after submitting my renewel stuff to el paso that with the new law passed in march if you live outside the county you can't renew there unless you have property or pay taxes there. You've got to renew in the county you live in now.

Before the law change I tried changing mine in Larimer but they said I'd have to basically start out from the beginning and wouldn't simply transfer, but with the new change I don't know if they'll let me re-new or if I'm gonna have to start the ccw process all over again.

If anyone can answer that question above that'd be great, otherwise I'm gonna find out in the next day or two.

I posted the same question over here and haven't gotten a response: https://www.ar-15.co/threads/64223-Summary-of-Colorado-CCW-Info-By-County?p=1603111#post1603111

I in the same situation, permit from Boulder, live in Weld. Boulder basically said the same thing that you posted above, and Weld is still trying to find out what we must actually do to renew. No one knows if it is just a renewal in a different county or if you must start from scratch in that new county. Big difference in price, especially if your firearms training is over 10 years old, luckily mine is not.

Hopefully some one has an answer for us.

From my understanding, and maybe my county is cooler than yours. You have to change counties when you move. Send your change of address to your current then when it's renewal time you see your current county.

I do know people with property in El Paso who maintain their permit from there, although they do reside in arapahoe currently.

Felt like I needed to update this.

So all I had to do was renew with Larimer County and they issued me their own card and I mailed my old card (expired at this point) back to the El Paso department. Didn't have to restart the whole process, cost was like any renewel.
