View Full Version : Old phone...
Hey Folks,
I have an old phone I'd like to sell or get rid of (iPhone 3G). I've seen those places that offer money for them, does anyone have personal expeirence with those places or know of a place where I can dispose of an old phone?
Thank you,
Bear
You're better off on craigslist than those buy-back phone companies. They're a rip off. How much are you asking? I could use an "ipod" for gym.
Gazelle won't even buy 3G/3GS anymore. You're better off keeping it as a wifi device for pandora or a security alarm touch screen controller.

Mine is my iPod and ballistic computer now. I also have an app to run it as a free home phone over wifi.

You will only get about $5 if you can even find a place to take it.

No need to keep it as a back up as I have other contingencies for that. Thank you though.

Make an offer and it's yours. PM me your addy and I'll throw it in the mail with the wall charger. It's been wiped clean so you'll just need to connect it to your itunes and set it up.

Really? I found two phone stores here that do the recycling thing and are offering $40/$45 for it... just wondering if there was a better "thing" out there. But no worries, I'll throw it in the mail for Deagler as soon as I get an addy.
Thanks for the info folks.

Slap it up on ebay, you'd be shocked at how much you can get out of it. I recently sold a droid x2 for $175 on eBay.

Rgr, I'd rather sell it to someone semi locally for less than worry about ebay payments processing, paypal crap, shipping, reviews, etc... I'm good on a word and a handshake and I expect others to be as well.
It's already spoken for so thanks for the advice.
Now, if anyone needs a trombone... (seriously).
Try donating it at the V.A.
I believe they have a program that gives the vets the donated phones so they can stay on top of there medical stuff.

Youre more than welcome to do so bigbear!
I have alway wondered how much of your personal info is stored on phones now a days even after you erase everything.

Pretty sure everything is erased/wiped off.
