With the closing of the Farm, Bob is suggesting that everyone get memberships at CRC. Looking through the rules they look about the same as any other range, no drawing from holster, fast fire and so on.. Are these rules strictly enforced? Can you take a class to show that you have a level of training to be able to do this safely?

Basically I'm just looking for a range that actually allows you to practice the things you need to practice, otherwise it's a long way to drive when you can shoot from a bench anywhere.

There are some things you will not be able to do at CRC that RW allowed. However, yes, you can get a clearance, from me, to be able to shoot/practice dynamically on the East ranges. It is not hard, and is really just basic safety.

However, there have been some rules violations that needed to be addressed in the last year in various flavors.

I think I have had maybe 10 people cleared in 9 months. Have had about a dozen no-shows as well.

I will be at the range this Friday and we will be doing some competition safety classes around 2 or so, which is a good first step if you do not shoot organized action matches.

Ah bummer, any classes available on Saturday or Sunday ?

I am interested on organized action matches and to shoot\practice dynamically.

If cleared, will this be only for pistol use, or can you also practice for 3 gun matches ?

Just sucks that I am a slave from M-F : (

Any info would be good.

Most of the matches at CRC have match safety intros available. You go through one (USPSA, IDPA, 3Gun) you are good for the rest (including SC). If you go through one of those and shoot an action match, the remainder of the clearance is more about safe target locations in the bays.

They will be teaching the USPSA intro during the super classifier match on Saturday.

The USPSA section (about a dozen clubs) uses the safety course material found here: http://www.ecouspsa.com/safety_program.html and the safety section is what we also use for the other disciplines at CRC.

You can have guest present, no "passes" Not sure if there is a number limit.

Colorado Rifle Club is now clearly marked in Google Maps with the land being marked a different color.
