Not quite.. The 'fear' the US gubment had of Anonymous was pretty much put to an end when it was revealed that several of the heads of Anonymous were, in fact, under the control of the feds (turning states evidence per se).

That said.. Anonymous is no one, its a self organizing collective, its whims and desires change as often as the breeze -- so its goals may, for some period of time, overlap your own personal desires and goals.

I wouldn't really call them "hackers" They do got a few members that know what there doing but overall they're made with a bunch of script kiddies. Problem with script kiddies is if you push them to far, they'll have to prove themselves and it causes reckless behavior. They got their asses handed to them not long ago in South America against a large drug cartel, somehow Anonymous group frozen the bank assets of of this drug dealer among a whole laundry list of things and then in Anonymous fashion they created a video on youtube to create a message. Less then 12 hours later the drug cartel pushed a video to respond that contain 10 or so addresses and a warning of they had 24 hours.

This is all unclassified material.

Never been my favorite group and I don't really pay them much attention. As stated above they bounce around somewhat. If they were more coordinated they could do some good or some real harm so ...the best that can do is to keep the truth about the corruption in government in front of the public to affect change.

A bunch of wannabes inflating their epeens. It's interesting how a bunch of Socialists make common-cause with anarchists but the common theme appears to be undermining traditional Western societies and governments. I happened to catch "V for Vendetta" again last night and other than V's splendiforous monologues, the movie itself was an "Occupy S--t" tirade against a strawman proxy for Western governments.

Open source activists who can't come to an agreement among themselves. They state that they do not believe in anarchy yet their organization, or lack of organization is anarchy in practice. Anyone can claim to be an Anon and do anything and claim it is sponsored by Anonymous.

As for the video, it is Critical Theory in practice. It is not practical to attack the republic and shout "Power to the People" while having no actual plan, structure, or goal to replace the system you attack. Like Hope and Change, without knowing what the hope is about and the type of change someone seeks, it is meaningless to support. Yet, somehow, more than 40% of citizens seem to support Hope and Change; not once, but twice.

I trust few people and wouldn't trust anyone who seeks power.

To me, people in the US who wear Guy Fawkes masks represent ignorance and misguided energy. But that is just my opinion.

There is more to anon than can be brought out here. In the end they are against the "big" and a force for the small. They make mistakes, which is part of the disorgization but they have been an overall positive force... Unless you are part of the "big". To try to catagorize them means you don't understand who and what they are. That's OK though, many times they are still figuring it out themselves.
