Looking for a gunsmith that has experience working on C93's. (Or similar rifle, Cetme, PTR etc. ) Specifically re-pressing barrels and trouble shooting. Prefer someone that has actually worked on a few of these as opposed to just any gunsmith.

Prefer local to Colorado Springs but if there is a expert in Denver that would work to.

Thanks

Re barreling a HK pattern weapon is not a simple proposition. You NEED the correct fixtures to press the barrel in/out and keep it correctly aligned.
I have done one and shall never do so again, a royal bitch IMHO.
Your best bet would be to check the HK forums, there are some very knowledgeable folks that can get you to the right place.

I am on the HK forums but just thought I would try local before I send it off to someone. I figured it's a long shot but worth a try.

Someone mentioned Iron Hammer Armory out in Byers. I have yet to actually talk to them myself. Anyone familiar with these guys and have any feedback?

Iron Hammer is more an AK and blade shop but you may want to give them a call or stop by.

I'm going to call them tomorrow. A bit far away for a stop by. Have you any experience dealing with them at all?

Not directly but I follow them on Facebook. Being local and innovative makes them worth watching for me.

I heard through the grapevine that the guy from iron hammer has been busy doing some sort of training classes or something and isn't doing much gunsmithing stuff lately due to lack of time. Haven't verified this for myself.

Find Ghilliebear out of OK on the HK forums. He re-barreled my Century disasterpiece and it came out awesome.

Already have his info but have not contacted him yet. Do you mind telling me what it cost you? You can pm if you prefer. Thanks.
