The girl was shooting a bb gun, the farmer brown individual seen her laying in the grass shooting pop cans and thought she was a whistle pig and took the shot with his rifle (reported story, still under investigation - according to link)

Very tragic. At 79 years old, I wonder how good/bad his eyesight is...

That's my thought. Or how fast must he have shot after acquiring his target? Was she on his land unexpectedly? So many questions. Tragic ending for sure.

Why is it that some people feel the need to kill anything living they see on their property. Oh my god, a groundhog, better kill it immediately.

Strange story, gotta be more to it. Apparently she was on his property target shooting with a BB gun, but he didn't know this? Why would anybody just go onto someone else's property randomly, and start target shooting with a BB gun? Gotta be more info, most likely another person with her, someone associated with the property and landowner who brought her there without letting the old guy know.

Sad and tragic story nonetheless.

Read it again. The VICTIM was using a BB gun, she was a 22 y.o. woman. The shooter was a 79 y.o. man, who thought he was shooting at a groundhog. The story didn't say what kind of gun he was using, but I seriously doubt it was a BB gun.

Honestly, I don't know. I do however know a friend who has some land who people keep going out shooting real guns on. He's had his steel targets ruined because of it. So not that unheard of.

No need for JHFC, reading comprehension, I need to stop doing long shifts and rest more often, before I read and comment, it happens, we are human.
