Are you sure you need the training. I just renewed in Arapahoe Cty and was in and out in 30 minutes, no need to show new training.

UNLESS your permit expired, you do not have top show training.

ACSO website is very unclear on this. I could have taken care of this 2 weeks ago, had I known I didn't need a copy of my training cert. Their phone support is lacking, also.

So, even if your original training cert is over 10yrs old, you can renew without one?

IF your permit is still valid.

Last year when I renewed in Arapahoe the detective/deputy doing my paperwork told me you need a new proof of training if your old one is older than 10 years.

Mine CHP expires in 90 days and I can't find my training cert. I used last time. It was new when I got it last time. Do I need it for renewal in Jeffco?

I believe I brought my AF 522 (firearms training for the Air Force) last year when I renewed at ACSO and they were not all that interested in it. Walked out with my new card.

When I renew again I will have attended a class. It is inexpensive, supports an instructor, and I can probably learn something so I am glad to do it.

I had to do mine because Adams county told me that any training cert from any state would work and then found out when I went in that that was false information. I went through Tac*One Consulting http://www.taconeconsulting.com and took the Advanced CCW for $100 I think. It was good stuff and we used simunition in their handguns.

After reading the statute I think if the training is over 10 years old a new class must be taken. The renewal application states you must be qualified to possess a permit per the requirements of the 18-12-203.

(VI) A training certificate from a handgun training class obtained within the ten years preceding submittal of the application. The applicant shall submit the original training certificate or a photocopy thereof that includes the original signature of the class instructor. To the extent permitted by section 18-12-202 (5), in obtaining a training certificate from a handgun training class, the applicant shall have discretion in selecting which handgun training class to complete.

Jeffco was totally uninterested in both my copy of my business lease and my training cert when I renewed in January...

Not so much as a glance.

This was my first renewal, originally got my CCW in Jan 09. We'll see how much hassle they give me in 2019...
