Hi all. I'm heading out to the South Site on Saturday for the first time in many, many years. Just wondering what the current guidelines are for that area. Anything other than the common sense stuff of shooting into a berm, bring your own targets/stands, and clean up when you're done? Any restrictions on direction of fire (no firing to the north or anything like that)? I want to make sure I don't do anything to cause problems for other shooters out there. I know we have a shortage of good areas to shoot and hate the idea of screwing it up for others! Thanks for any tips you might have.

Lately there have been folks hiking around behind where folks are shooting. Do yourself a favor & do a check behind/beyond where you'll be shooting & keep a vigilant eye out back there for idiots.
Other than that and what you already covered, no incendiary ammo (tracers) as fire danger is HIGH. Probably best to being a shovel in case you create as spark which starts a fire.
Good luck & happy shooting!

In summary: Be responsible. Hope you had a good time and welcome to the forum! [Beer]
It's not an official range. There really aren't any guidelines other than common sense. And there's a good chance that commodity could be in short supply out there. Be careful and stay safe.

Shot here yesterday for the first time. Had a time finding it but I did. What a mess with all the trash. By the way the GPS coordinates are N 39 08 326 W 105 07 653. Now time to clean a few.
