Inquiring minds want to know...........
I see that deer pref points are listed on the DOW site for deer.
So if you received a pref point for deer in 2014, you didn't draw.
Linky: http://cpw.state.co.us/thingstodo/Pages/DrawResults_PreferencePoints.aspx
Go to the bottom of the page, enter your info and get you current license draw results. Licenses aren't posted as of today, but you can tell if you get a pref point for deer whether you got your 1st choice or not.
I imagine that elk and pronghorn will be similar results this week and probably post next week.
This only works if you were drawn for a first choice pick. Second or third choice draws still get a preference point.

Nada for me so far.
3rd year for no deer for me and my son too
Says I got a preference point for Elk last year, and 2 preference points for Deer this year.
Bummer. Second year with no deer license for me, and again, didn't draw a moose license. Now have 3+12 points for moose in 2015. Last year, there were 18,360 applicants for 228 moose licenses. This year, 250 licenses are offered.
Mule deer populations are hurting.
Edit to say I spoke too soon re deer as I applied to build preference points and might yet draw a deer license in the areas I regularly hunt near the Flat Tops. There's still hope....

What unit are you putting in for? It took me 8 years to draw mine for unit 28. Well worth it. Opening day took this guy.

Nice looking Bullwinkle, congrats! And with only 8 points, guess that's why they call it 'luck of the draw'.
According to the stats this year only 1 in 73 applicants will draw a moose tag.
Over the years I've applied for a number of different units in North Park, Grand Mesa, and Indian Peaks, including 7, 8, 42, 20 and others. Will take a look at 28. Any tips appreciated.
Ahh shit I got points. What a let down. I had bought reloading components for the 7-08. Swapped a different scope onto the gun. Then thought about going with a handgun and loaded up some of my 310 grain cast for the 44 mag.....This feels like that day my wife met my girl friend.

So just to re-cap- this is my first year in the draw...If I have no points then I technically got my first pick? Is that how I read this, you guys are seeing if points are awarded and if you have them then no first pick? Still new to this "draw" stuff!

Yes, you are correct. If your pref point summary indicates 0 points for 2014, you have a tag coming.

Sweet, appreciate the info..
Now sitting at 10 points for deer, only a few years more until I can draw a tag. 8 for bear, 6 for elk, and 3+8 for sheep, moose and goat. And 1 lonely point for antelope.

I was sitting on 9 points for deer 2 years ago. Figured I would need another 12 before being able to draw in the area I wanted. Put that against my age and decided the wait wasn't worth it any more as I am getting older. Ended up getting a doe tag and filling, showing my son how to hunt deer. Waiting 20 years between deer is just insane.

Something is about to be posted... pref points and weighted points are listed as "pending" when you look them up by individual CC#

If you check your Draw Results page and 'Right Click' that frame, select 'View Frame Source' you will get a coded page.
Scroll down toward the bottom and read the code, you can see the 2014 results
That my friends, is the 'New Backdoor". Elk should post overnight or early tomorrow.
Rucker,
Can you give us a line number of where you saw your results? That would help me out.

I like it, nice work.
Unfortunately, I see I have once again not drawn pronghorn with three points in a single-point draw area. Nor deer in an area where they should just be mailing tags out to every residence owner. I'm not sure what these clowns at the DOW are up to.
rpm,
Where are you hunting antelope? I put in for Pawnee and it took me 4 and my son 5 points to pull a tag. Just as an FYI.

are you putting in with that area as your first choice? seems pretty odd. what code did you put it? I'm sure you know, but just in case: you can go to the statistics page: http://cpw.state.co.us/thingstodo/Pages/Statistics.aspx
and go in there, check the code you put in for against the data they have for that code and see what the pref points required were for both resident and non resident.
sounds like you knew this already, but figured I would post it just in case, and it will help some other folks out too!
Thanks for the input, I've checked both the link as well as the CDOW guy I spoke with last year to bitch, it is a single point buck draw area and zero point doe area - AM105O1R is the code I used for first choice and AF105O1R was second choice. It is mostly private land and I have permission for nearly 1,000 acres.

Rucker,
Can you give us a line number of where you saw your results? That would help me out.
I think it will differ for everyone, depending on how many previous years results you have. For me, deer results are line 111-114, and show 0 points left for 2014, indicating that I drew for deer. For elk, it's 117-120, 1pt from last year, showing 2013 as the date. Since the elk draw is late today, I expect it to change. I didn't put in for moose, sheep goat or pronghorn, so I don't have any of those showing. All of this year's data is below last year's data.
Use Internet explorer -- it will format in a readable manner.
Firefox does not format html very well when viewing the source.

Wow, that would definitely piss me off. Do you make sure you checked that you have preference points for that species when you apply? I don't know why they require that box, they know how many points you have.

...and it shows a new point for elk for me, dang it.
No elk for me. Guess it is an archery kinda year!
Woohoo! My first year hunting elk in CO (just moved from the PNW).

On my 4 lines it says elk, 1, 0, 2014 and for deer it says deer, 1, 0, 2014. What does that mean?

1 = points; 0= weighted points; 2014 is this year. Try this other method - go to the DOW website and follow the path to electronically purchase a habitat stamp. When you get to that page, everything that you have on file will be at the bottom. You'll see your big game applications with a three digit number that begins with 4; if you also see the same application with a three digit number that begins with 5, you drew.
I am not sure what you guys are seeing. Mine shows no change in preference points and indicates everything for 2014 is pending.

That was a pain. It says there
2014 - 480 res elk app
2014 580 res elk
2014 - 490 res deer app
This is what mine shows.

Looks like deer: not first choice; elk: first choice. You can try the other method I described above to see if there's anything else showing for deer.
Thanks. Appreciate the help. This will be my first year hunting, ever.
Damn... Backdoor method broke my heart... NO deer or Elk in 555... So leftover Deer and Elk tags are posted on July 15, then become available on August 5th? Am I reading this right???
"...Leftover Limited Licenses: These are the limited licenses remaining after the limited license draw AND LEFTOVER DRW PROCESS. New this year, they are available for online purchase starting August 5 at 9 a.m. MST..."
When does the leftover draw happen?

No go for pronghorn, yes on buck tag deer and a pref point for elk. Yay.
Evidently someone at the DOW office took pity on me: PRONGHORN SUCCESSFUL LIMITED LICENSE FOR 1ST CHOICE
I'd say I was reading the frame source incorrectly but all my other tags were correct. I am going to get a towel to mop up my tears from the previous page...

Wahoo! I got a deer and elk tag coming!
Female deer season 2 rifle
Female elk late season 3 rifle
Looks like it's only elk hunting this year. Struck out on deer, pronghorn and moose but collected points.
I drew a 2nd rifle cow tag for the Flat Tops area I always hunt, and added another elk preference point, too. An additional OTC bull license will give me options and hopefully, a full freezer.
Here's a little inspiration for your edification:

Hummer,
Should you decide you need an apprentice, keep me in mind.
Nice bull.

Nice bull.
Will do, Robb, thanks. Got lucky, but proud of him just the same. It was my 24th elk (http://onyourownadventures.com/hunttalk/showthread.php?t=252873&highlight=2012+colorado+hunt), and my first trophy 6x6 bull. Last year I took a cow elk in the last hour (https://www.ar-15.co/threads/119011-11th-Hour-Elk) of the season, didn't even see a bull. Public land hunts can make you work for it.

That system changed my data almost every day. Wish I never checked it as I was greatly disappointed. Put in for all four areas that have never required points but didn't get anything.

I got zip also. No deer, elk or pronghorn. Looks like a beef and pork year.
I drew first season Muzzleloader elk for area 57 I think. Points for deer.
No Elk
Pronghorn, successful
No Deer, knew that was coming.
Guess its OTC for me on Elk!
